  1. 1964 Barney Kessel I've never seen one of these before, and I really like the double cutaway look on it :)
  2. Right, he didn't play .. so my guess is all of these guitars are most likely as he bought them. I don't think he had them customized after the fact, but who knows? That's a good possibility ... I can't think of any other reason to do this, rather than just using a 1/4" splitter in the chain.

  4. Here's a closer look at the control cavity, as well as the switch cavity. I see the color difference, but being colorblind, I have no idea what to call it (TV yellow vs. Cherry Red?).
  5. I also noticed the replacement tuners and bridge (which is a "Leo Quan Badass"), but the pickguard, pickups, and big rubber washer around the selector switch makes me think '58.
  6. No serial number to be found, but it appears the POT code is 134808, which translates to 1948 or 1958 through the Guitar Dater Project website. Not sure what the jack in the back is for ... possibly added to produce a stereo signal? It looks to be wired in parallel to the factory jack ... I tested them and they both work fine.
  7. 3219 is the batch #, and 25 is the sequence # within the batch. It's not the 3219th guitar produced, but is the 25th guitar produced in batch # 3219.

    The collection was originally built by a roadie back in the 70's. He was killed in a car accident in 1980, and the collection went to his 2 brothers.
