  1. I also have a 2014 Standard with the same type of nut. I haven't had any issues with the Standard, only with the 2013 Traditional. The lubrication fixed this though. All is well!
  2. My 2013 Traditional does the same thing. When it was new I kept hearing a pinging sound(G string) and it would go out of tune after that. At that time, someone here recommended Big Bends Nut Sauce or even graphite. I bought the Nut Sauce and I really haven't had a problem since. Many here have stated that even the lead from a pencil works as well. I make sure I lube on every string change. http://www.amazon.com/Big-Bends-Luber-Ultra-Applicator/dp/B000SHQ1QC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1428733660&sr=8-1&keywords=nut+sauce+guitar
  3. LOL....boy do I feel stupid! Thought it was a new thread. Oh Well!
  4. Im not the one taking them out, the opening post Mygibbysired is!
  5. I have a 2013 Trad with 57s in it. I absolutely love it! Try it on an Epiphone!
  6. Oh man...don't take those 57's out! They are badass pickups! That's what makes your Trad so special. Take Searcy's advice!
  7. I actually have a Caramel Burst, so I voted Honey. Never saw them side by side, but they look very similar in color. Maybe one is darker than the other? IDK... I also have a Tobacco Burst as well. They are both very cool colors. I do like the Cherry finish, but if you ask me the Honey/Caramel is cooler!!
  8. I also find this hard to believe. I purchased 2 the in last 2 years 2013 Traditional/ 2014 Standard. Not only are they both are tone monsters, they are absolutely beautiful. They were easy to set up, intonation/ tune ability are top notch! These guitars are bar none high quality! To hear this guy say 5 bad guitars in a row sounds a bit fishy to me! I'll bet he wouldn't think that if he had a chance to play mine.
  9. Just recently bought a 2013 Traditional(new) and a 2014 Sandard+(new). I am happy to say that I am done! I have what I need. I bought my Standard+ last month due to the scare of 2015. I paid $2900 for my Standard+ AAAA flame Tobaco Burst and absolutely love it! Sure it has the inlay on the 12th fret, but that doesnt bother me at all. This simular guitar in 2015 will cost $3800!! No More Gibson's for me, unless maybe I become a famous guitar god legend.
  10. I am no pro by any means. But I was kind of in the same boat as you, I wanted a Standard in 2013, but ended up buying a 2013 Traditional instead. The Trad was only $2100 vs $3200 for the Standard. They both are truely awesome guitars. 2 Years later I still love my Tradional and am now use to it. Trads are truely tone monsters! The neck thing didnt bother me as you will get use to which ever you choose. Some day I would like to buy a second guitar and I think it would be a Standard, just so I can compare and have a feeling of what the 60s neck is like. Either choice IMO is a good one!
