  1. Ha, thanks for letting me know G Mac. I love my guitar porn...as do most of us here.

  2. Yeah you should be fine with a used one. As far as I know, most if not all of the fadeds/VMs had the BBs.
  3. I realized I never shared my studio in this thread. '06

    Auto Tune??

I have never used the min-e-tune. It does change the aesthetics BUT it is on the back of the headstock so under normal playing conditions it isn't seen anyways. I use a TU-2 to tune my guitar. It takes up precious space in my small pedalboard. If I had a guitar with a gforce and it worked, I would have room for another pedal. I don't think I would buy one and install it on my current guitar but I see the value in it and would use it if I get a new guitar with one.

    Auto Tune??

Autotune is a recording plugin that adjusts the pitch of ones voice.
  6. I know the current state of your tuners or what year your guitar is but in my case, 2001 G400, the tuners were awful. They become very loose and could not hold a tuning to save its life after like 5 years of heavy use. The new tuners I put on are wonderful. Night and day.
  7. I replaced my epiphone tuners with Gibson tulip tuners. I had to have my luthier do it as the holes did not match up completely.
  8. I agree with everything everyone has said in this thread.
  9. The picture quality isn't that great, but i'd say it is a lighter piece of ebony. For future reference you can get a photobucket account and post as many pics as you wish. This thread is in the forum feedback section of the site.
  10. What color finish does your guitar have? For the Alpine White and Ebony studios the fret boards were ebony up until 5 years ago or so. I think for most if not all of the other finishes had rosewood boards.
  11. Nice, the color still looks brand new!
  12. First mistake. [flapper] [flapper] Definitely look up 'guitar repair' in your area on Yelp and go from there.
  13. I think you should re-read the first few posts of this thread. No one said anything bad about you nor was anyone being pompous or anything like that. The big thing is we try to point out that just because something is 'old' does not mean it is going to be significantly valuable. That is all. I think you may have over reacted. It's fine. It happens. When you get older you'll learn not to let other people get to you as much and you'll become less sensitive. Happy Thanksgiving! Lets celebrate our slaughter of the Indians.
  14. Word, no one is talking bad about studios. Relax bro, this is the internet. I have an '06 studio that i love and think sounds amazing. The 498t is a hell of a pickup!
  15. It does look nice. Are you happy with the way it sounds? It seems like you're not completely sold on the guitar. If you are not you may be able get some money out of it and get a guitar that you really love. I have a G-400 and i kept it and saved up money to get my Gibson. I'm glad I did because I still play it and it makes a great back up.
  16. Sweet! You play clarinet?
  17. Back in the day my band had a 5x8 trailer to haul our gear to shows. No stickers or logos were ever put on the trailer because we didn't want to draw attention to the fact that we had thousands of dollars worth of gear in there. Plus when we finally sold the thing it still looked nice and new on the outside and probably got more money for it than if we had painted it or stickered it up.
  18. i remember this guitar from the removing knobs from push/pull pots thread. love it
  19. I'm in love with that guitar. Way to go!
  20. What I like is where they place the pick up selector. I have a tendency to flick mine on my LP studio while strumming. I tend to play in a very animated style with long down and up strums and the pick up selector lies right in the path. Seems like this guitar was made for me. If I ever see one come up for sale around here i may just have to check it out.
  21. For sure, the value of the guitar is unfortunately going to be diminished because collectors want all original guitars but it is a great looking guitar. So Love it, Play it!
  22. Well i think they started selling them in 1952. Do you have a picture? IF it's genuine it could be worth a pretty penny. From watching Antiques Roadshow they will show from time to time people that come in with legit old Les Pauls or Strats that they found in a closet or their family member purchased and never played and was then handed down to them.
