I'm not really secret or weapon worthy, but I love my TC Spark Boost......I find it can do several simple things that are nice to have handy. Slight boost for leads, it can be an "always on" to fatten things up a bit, can dial it in for quite a bit of grit and yet leave the original tone fairly un-molested.

Had the pleasure of playing a Jeff Beck prototype that Stevie D of Buckcherry had. Not sure if it was ever released to the public or not.
That said, as far as the original question, the vary. I've heard of specific artists getting a small number of "prototypes" of their signature guitars with subtle differences for them to choose which one will be the final released model.

I have a Laney Cub 12 and am very happy with it. I would also recommend the Blackstar HT5

The NHTom Signature model...
Light aged lemon burst, Hum/P90 combo, ebony board, fairly traditional specs on the rest.

I got a Kay KE10 like this one and a Peavy backstage amp.

No pics or anything but I spent a few hours playing my 07 wine red Studio today and it still just astounds me how much guitar I got for the money.
It's not the fanciest one out there (obviously) but out of a store full of Les Pauls that's the one that said Buy Me!
Huge "bang for your buck" guitars IMO
Drives me crazy when people say "It's just a studio...." like it's a negative thing......great guitars.

Judge them each on their own...some great guitars from that era and some donkeys. Happens in every era and every brand.

I'd think there would be pretty strong interest in those as many are not "common" ones. Some of those would be sought after due to their rarity.

Yeah, some heavy hitters in their history.
Taken from their web site.................
The Compulsions are the brainchild of vocalist/guitarist Rob Carlyle.
To bring his musical vision to life, Rob has enlisted some the best New York-area players he could find, perhaps most notably drummer Frank Ferrer and guitarist Richard Fortus, who have both played in Guns N’ Roses, as well as bassist Sami Yaffa, who has played in Hanoi Rocks, Joan Jett and New York Dolls.
Other notable contributors include drummer Jay Dee Daughtery of the Patti Smith Group, guitarist, multi-instrumentalist, producer and New York Blues Hall Of Fame inductee, Hugh Pool, bassist, multi-instrumentalist, producer and twice Grammy-nominated engineer Ken Rich and of course, dearly departed guitarist Hubert Sumlin, legendary sideman for blues icons Howlin’ Wolf and Muddy Waters, as well as one of Rolling Stones 100 Greatest Guitarists Of All Time.

Gibson guitars by Echopark

I've seen a couple other mentions of a few other's that are "partners".
My question is, is this whole thing a result of the whole "play original" and threats/lawsuits of the brands that copy Gibson shapes? Does this just boil down to "we will take a fee and then allow you to use our shapes"???
