  1. Yeah looks like a perfect couch guitar. $5279.00 though bit rich for me.
  2. Just showed up on YouTube special run for MusicVilla: http://youtube.com/shorts/vAN3fshUW64?feature=share3
  3. I'd recommend silvercreek also if you want a decent budget case.
  4. I had a similar problem with my 63' Hummingbird it was mingin. I got rid of the case it came with, lemon oiled the fretboard and gave the guitar a good clean. The smell went away eventually. I have heard leaving a tumble dryer sheet in the empty case can help also. Best of luck.
  5. That's just a super cool guitar. Congratulations πŸ‘
  6. I've had a couple 2003 and 2012 models. I would like to get another at some point. I love the natural finish and batwing pickguard.
  7. Nice deal on that one. I would have been interested myself but the seller wasn't keen on shipping. Enjoy your new guitar.
  8. Seems like a very fair deal. I say go for it and enjoy itπŸ‘.
  9. Here's one on Reverb. Got some runout in the top though: https://reverb.com/item/59166686-sj-200-original-antique-natural?utm_source=android-app&utm_medium=android-share&utm_campaign=listing&utm_content=59166686
  10. I'm curious about the satin finish also. My Noel Gallagher J-150 has what they call an aged finish but it almost looks like a type of satin finish to me. The neck is already starting to get a shine to it. I've no doubt the satin finish could be buffed out. I remember many people who owned Larrivee 3 series guitars with all satin finishes would buff them out by themselves.
  11. Fewer coats and time spent at the buffing wheel, "time is money" as they say.
  12. Satin finish doesn't require as much work as a full gloss finish.
  13. New line from Gibson. A faded satin nitro finish. Looks like about $350-400 less than a standard model.
  14. Mine is from the same run, I believe there were 20 of them. Great guitars.
  15. Big booming bass is the last thing I'd associate with a J-185. Mine is a very evenly balanced guitar and doesn't have a rough feeling fretboard. I'd suggest you find another example to try, sounds like the one you tried may have some humidity/setup issues.
  16. Riviera arrived, really beautiful guitar. Played it briefly and sounds great.
  17. Yeah I think they did a great job with this promo video. I'm sure they are going to sell a lot of these.
  18. Have one of these on order. Anyone else own one or plan on getting one. Really looking forward to getting it in my hands: https://www.epiphone.com/en-US/Electric-Guitar/EPIKR5555/Dark-Wine-Red
  19. No issues with mine. I saw the review Trogly's Guitars Show on YouTube did. He pointed out a few things on the one he got, particularly the edge of the fretboard. http://youtu.be/9r7EJPUBO0M
  20. Nice guitar and the case is cool alsoπŸ‘
  21. Not a fan of the double pickguards either. I like the color though and it does sound very good.
  22. He's got this one listed for sale at $2k.
  23. I follow Jake Wildwood on Instagram and he often gets some really cool guitars through his shop. Saw this one and thought it's pretty interesting: https://jakewildwood.blogspot.com/2022/08/1992-gibson-starburst-mini-jumbo.html
  24. Not really liking the sound of these at all. Maybe it's that funky bridge, seems like it gives it a kind of plinky, percussive sound. Nothing like my J-185.
