I think it's just the color of the interior. I haven't seen yellow on many modern Gibson cases.

Sorry it's mahogany. Sounds incredible though. Picture makes it looks a bit better condition than it is. Has a couple of cracks and numerous dings. No neck reset though, replacement bridge and frets the rest is original.

Looks like a bit of bearclaw in the spruce top. I'm sure it's just aesthetic, but like E-minor7 said it's up to you. If your not 100% happy I'd return it.

Well both listings have a few watchers. Not saying they will sell for the asking price but certainly they will sell for considerably more than original price. I reckon Gibson could've priced these models a lot higher and they still would've sold all 200 no problem.

I agree with JC. I think it would be priced right in-between a studio and an standard SJ-200. So potential studio buyers would more likely shell out the extra cash for one and SJ-200 buyers would save a few bucks buying essentially the same guitar minus neck/headstock binding. Basically it would take a away sales from those two popular models. Seems like it wouldn't make any sense from a business standpoint for Gibson.

Even sadder that someone is actually willing to pay the asking price.

Yeah I saw that also. Funny there is a thread on the AGF about this guitar. Lots of the usual negative comments about Gibson and signature models in general, people are idiots for buying them etc. I did reply to this AGF post that these would sell for a premium in the used market.

Well I think I've managed to secure one from from musicians friend. Thankfully I was working nightshift last night so was lucky enough to see them right when they showed up on the site. Fingers crossed it goes through.

Yeah, I do hope it's incorrect. I was checking on the Gibson website and I don't see any other models with that nut width. Would be a deal breaker for me also. I cannot find a spec for the the original J-150's nut width.

Seems like it has a fairly narrow nut width 1.687".

I have a J-185 New Vintage which is basically a true vintage with a gloss finish. Mine is Sitka spruce over maple. Anyway it's my favorite guitar, it just does everything well and is so comfortable to hold and play.

Sweet guitar. Looks like it has really nice grain in the spruce top.
