  7. That Collings looks so good, I got to play a CJ 35 a friend owns over thanks giving They make a nice guitar
  8. Marco your temperature and humidity levels are at good levels for your guitars, if they remain in this range I see no need for any humidification
  9. He's riding A-1-A all the way Thanks Jimmy
  10. E=minor I listened to your version of Junk many times when you posted it in the Acoustical Performances Good to hear it again Bravo!
  11. I've been thumb whacking for years, learned it from an old friend years ago. I do it on the bridge, a good guitar will sing to you. Also lets you know if there are lose braces I have seen Bryan Sutton do it
  12. One of my fondest musical memories was the first time I heard The Weight Siting in my bed room ( 1968 ) in a suburb of Washington DC listing to am radio from Boston WBZ that I could pick up at night. Bought the album Music From Big Pink as soon as I could
  13. Thats a sharp looking guard by Holter I was fortunate to get two guards from firestrippickguards when he was making them, great guy he was a form member Here is one on my 45tv . Lars also has some very nice ones
  14. Gibson J- 25 https:https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/1621780738342544/
  15. There is another guy making pick guards WJ Watson His guards look nice, he making tear shaped guards now wjwatsonhandmade.wixsite.com/wjwatsonpickguards-1
  16. Love it, been looking for a tune to play thanks. A C7th cord gets me every time
  17. I replaced the tuners on my Guild D40 with grovers, must have been early seventies. There still going strong, a lot of the gold finish has worn off the knobs. These must be first generation grovers notice the pat pending Fads they come and go
  18. My J45tv has similar etching on it's bridge plate, AJ some thing. I believe they mark them because there precut to fit the bracing patterns of the model of the guitar My 45 has advance jumbo bracing
  19. Ever since I moved back to this area 20 years ago Before that I would have said " On the barrier islands of Virginia's Eastern Shore" Humidity concerns, I can control levels when the guitar is cased I like to leave a guitar on a stand in my home office and don't case it. In the winter I have the Epi on the stand, being a laminate back and sides I believe it can tolerate the lower humidity better The Epi was made to be played also, and the Guild .........
  20. It's that time of the year in the foot hills of the appalachian mountains, to wake up the J45 after months in the case. And take it's spot on the stand, where the Epiphone has been residing all winter. Yippe! i.imgur.com/kaxIiCZ.
  21. I think the guitar you have now AJ200 older model is a fine guitar, I have a 98 AJ28 that I play all winter when humidity is low and I keep my solid wood guitars cased. I like the looks of the Epi Humming Bird cherry burst also and have one on a stand in my kitchen. Seems like the bird your looking at is priced a bit high, do you need to plug in? Have your AJ set up by a competed person ( do your research get recommendations from other players ) Have some new strings put on it try some DR Sunbeams I realy like them on my Epiphone Keep looking for the bird you will find one no rush, may be you will get the real deal Gibson Bird
  22. Others will chime in, but the screw for a bridge pin is brilliant
  23. Yea man, this may get you on the List. The program on the americana stations. Seeing the Charlie Daniels photo in the video, thats whos voice Murph sounds like
  24. My 1969 Guild D40 had neck finish wear that I had put on it and was a bit proud of. Had a guy reset the neck and he removed the original dark finish that Guild used on the mahogany, neck , sides and back. The mahogany that was exposed is beautiful but I miss that play wear
