Sweetwater is the best. Knowledgeable staff and good prices.

That put me off as well.

I thought seriously about buying one but the price was just too hefty for a guitar that I did not immediately fall in love with.

Hello Again by Neil Diamond. Lots of great jazz chords that challenge me.

Welcome! I was born in Beaufort almost 60 years ago. Now I live in central S.C. Good to have someone else from our state here!

HI guys, my name is Kathryn Mallory-Ramos, I am 17 years old and live in Southern California. What brought me here was that my dad was very involved with music. I know he used to make guitars and they were his life. He had a Gibson J-200 Acoustic with a Marshall guitar amp and the guitar itself is gorgeous. He made so much music with that guitar and he was a big influence in my life. He passed away of stage 4 stomach cancer on Feb 4, 2013 and I was devastated. My brother now has his guitar but does not play it. Im not exactly sure of where im going with this post. I dont know haha I just hope to one day learn guitar and follow in his steps, which i already plan on doing. So I guess this is it (:
You're a wonderful age to begin learning guitar. I started taking lessons about a year ago and have learned a lot. It's become a wonderful hobby and I've collected some really nice guitars in the process. It's a wonderful goal and it would be a great way to honor your dad.

I've posted a few times but never to "introduce myself." I'm from sunny South Carolina. I'm still classified as a beginner, taking guitar lessons, guess you could say it's a bucket list project. Plan to retire in about 5 years and hope to be proficient enough to play in a small group at some point. Always said I would have Gibsons if and when I ever started taking music lessons and so when it came time to buy guitars, I did my research and got what I wanted. This seems like a great forum to get suggestions and I made a great contact here recently to purchase my Doves in Flight. Hope everyone has a Merry Christmas and a great New Year!

Who plays a bass and which ones do you have?

I have a Gibson ES Les Paul short scale bass with flat wound strings. I don't play it a lot but when I love to play it when the occasion arises.
