  1. Got a Grainger Blues Twin which is a rebadged BC30 that I'm looking to offload. Based in central(ish) UK. Looking for around the £250 mark. Nice little amp but it has to make room for the HiWatt. PM for more info or contact. Cheers Image of the amp can be found here. Apart from the badge on the front it really is a BC30. https://drive.google.com/open?id=104XUHNlh-x0cpAF59R9ILAimYm6cxdEa
  2. Any reason you don't just buy another amp? Cost about the same as a decent aftermarket PSU. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Epiphone-Slash-Snakepit-15G-guitar-amplifier-/142477854477
  3. I have EHX 12AX7s in mine but since I've also replaced the speakers with some vintage 70s Celestions it would be hard to make a direct comparison. Tone is so subjective that any suggestion is simply hand-waving, finger in the air stuff. What sort of tone are you aiming for? As I recall the Sovteks tend to be a little on the harsh side. I've seen recommendations for the Tung Sol tubes in BC30s so there's another avenue to explore. In fact there's even a complete Tung Sol set aimed specifically at the BC30 available on a certain well known auction site.
  4. Hi, Not sure what the rules are for selling stuff on here but I have an Epiphone SoCal50 up for grabs, along with a nice Fender 4x12. Its a very nice little amp but unfortunately it has to go to make space for something a bit more high-end. Images can be found here: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B_Pqm7oEcUniemcxRjgtMmVVSE0 https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B_Pqm7oEcUniT3FvT2V0UVVGdE0 https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B_Pqm7oEcUnibHF6bWx5dHduYVU Its on the bay and reverb or pm for more details. https://reverb.com/item/6807094-epiphone-socal-50-50w-valve-amp
  5. Now you know what those caps do. :-) Try re-installing C6.
  6. Should've practiced more when I was younger.

  7. Hi, New to the forums. Liking this thread lots. So... my (sort of - badge on the front says "Grainger") BC30 has a duff standby switch and for various I want to replace it rather than dumping it. So I take the switch out and it has a bezel 25mm x 25mm. It appears that no one on the planet makes switches in these dimensions. Global standard seems to be 25x31. Anyone know where I can get a replacement switch to fit or do I just start carving the front panel to take a standard item? I did email Gibson support who (bless 'em) pointed me in the direction of "British Audio Service" which was nice as I'm based in the UK. Slight problem in that B.A.S are in Nashville, TN. Cheers
  8. Les Paul and a BC30. What's not to like?
