Shouldn't even say Inspired by. Why would they try to put the good name MasterBilt in front of the good names Texan. Hummingbird and Frontier all different guitars that have gained great respect over the age's just saying.

I just replaced the nut on my DR500MCE with a Tusq XL nut by Graph Tech there very easy to work with and I like them as much as bone.

My DR500MCE was built in 2011 I bought it new in 2012 I have played 11 and 52 D'addario EXP26 coated since day one and think there great. It didn't lose any tone at tall going from 12 and 53's just had to do a very small truss rod adjustment is all.

I don't know about down in the States but in Canada you can get original parts from Shadow through D'Addario Canada. You might look at there US site to see if they do the same.Mik

Torca did they give you a good trade in price for your Texan. I wanted to trade a Masterbilt but they did offer me much for it and it is only two years old and in good shape. -

Looking at some old posts I read where you had the finish on your Texan sanded down. I'm thinking of doing this to a masterbilt did you do it yourself and how big a job was it or did you have it done for you. I can not see how thinning out the finish could not help the sound to improve. Anyhow thanks for any info in advance I enjoy reading your posts thanks Mick
