Plus 1 on Cornell, Handmade, hand wired, best components, built by Dennis Cornell, and what he doesn't know about amps is not worth knowing. I have a TR20 basically a Romany plus with trem, it has a built in attenuator type thing going on, takes it from 20 watts clean down to 1/4 watt really raunchy! Takes pedals really well on the 20 watt setting. But the best thing about them is the sound and that's what counts, I have owned loads of big name and boutique amps and this is up there with any of them.

Thanks for the replies, much appreciated, looks like i'm going to have to wait till my preferred gauge is back in stock, shame cause i really fancied going up that bit extra but not at the risk of doing any damage.

Hi, Not posted on here for a while but i am still a J45 player, always will be, and still loving them, I have an all Hog 45 from 2018 and i use Newtone p/b 12-54's on it, love these strings but want to try a set i have that are 12-56's they go 12-16-26-36-46-56 as opposed to 12-16-24-34-44-54, yeah you guessed it i'm asking if any of you 45 players use this gauge or 13's on your Gibbo's? The Newtones are round core which i'm led to believe are lighter in tension than hex core but not sure if that's true, anyway is it safe to put them on mine, the reason i'm loathe to put them on is that it plays great as it is and i couldn't get my normal gauge so went for these as something a bit different.
