  1. Thanks, everyone. I ordered a new Epiphone EL-00 case from Candyland....Let's see how it fits.
  2. Hi All, I just got this absolutely gorgeous sweet guitar in a newer case that is too big. I also tried the case for my Martin 000-18, and it too it too big.... Any suggestions?
  3. Not a "T" but this ES-125 (1948) is on its way to me. Just purchased on Reverb. So excited!
  4. Ditto on the Pearse nickel....
  5. don't like Elixirs either -- but on my Bird TV they sound right -- after a month or so 🙂 Then they last indefinitely....
  6. Using Elixir PB 12s currently but really like John Pearse PB 12s as well on my 2013 Bird TV
  7. I am the same way -- D28, D18, D35, J45, J50, Hummingbird ... the tried and true models that have been with me my whole life. Now -- to the question at hand -- Gibsons, Guilds and Martins all play well over here. It changes daily -- I swear. There are times I pick up my 1966 D18 and swear I will sell all the others. Likewise with my 2013 Hummingbird True Vintage -- and my J45 and my Guild D40.... If they weren't great, I would wouldn't own them. And I do sell off guitars that no longer speak to me. But I think I'm done with that. I shed about 1/3 of my collection last year because I needed money for the tax man (It was nasty.) But now, I'm happy with this crew. Very!
  8. I have a 2013 True Vintage I bought in 2017. A real sweetheart. The label says "Custom Shop." Specs as I know them: Vintage Cherry Sunburst finish, AAA grade Sitka spruce top, mahogany sides and back, X scalloped bracing, Madagascar rosewood bridge and fingerboard, bone nut and saddle, tortoise pickguard with floral Hummingbird design (hand painted), Nut width: 1.725” Pearl Paralellogram inlays, Gold Gotoh Green Button Tuners, Tapered Dovetail Neck Joint, Waverly bone bridge pins, Original Vintage brown HSC TONE to die for. Plays great. I tried lots of strings and Elixir light nano PB are far and away the best strings for this guitar. (I don't like them on any other guitar.)

  10. I have bought two guitars on there and found two more (that I ended up driving a ways and purchasing in person). Far superior to the Bay in every way....
  11. an instrumental composed for my dad... 2013 Hummingbird True Vintage (Custom Shop)
  12. I read this AFTER I wrote my response. This is better because you said what I wanted to say and with more detail. Yes, I own lots of guitars, but, except for my D-28, this is the one I have had the longest and will own until I die....
  13. I bought mine new in 2006. She has opened up beautifully. The standard J-45 has Grover Rotomatic. These have the plastic Kluson type tuners The guitar sounds and plays like J45's I always remembered, and always wanted. My buddy has the Jackson Browne model -- stupid money for a guitar to my ears and hands isn't any better (or as good, really) than this one. What I mean is that, the J45 Historic Collection is good enough that if you love it and play it often, she will grow into the guitar you are looking for.
