  1. Been using them without issue for years and years.... Over twenty guitars, all kinds, no issues....
  2. I never had any real issues with them. It's mostly a question of what i am trying to accomplish with a string change. Sometimes I want to wake the guitar up, and, for me, these strings do that.
  3. I use the Elixirs mostly on guitars that don't get played as often because they can sit in the case forever and never lose that new string sound.
  4. Hi, All, Couple of quickie questions:was this guitar built with torrified top? What strings did Gibson ship these with?
  5. Yes -- "Limited Edition" on the label
  6. Hi, All, I have a 2021 J45 RW Custom Shop Build. Is the top torrified?
  7. Yes. Interesting that you mentioned the Martin. I traded a really nice D28 re imagined for this guitar, and both of us couldn't be happier.... Point is, these Gibbys are right there with the best of CFM....
  8. However, this one has snowflake inlays on the fingerboard, bound headstock and neck.
  9. Really a fine piece. Fit and finish exquisite. Tone beast. Plays perfectly. Snappy highs, deep lows. Very alive and loud.
  10. Hi, All, Was looking for a rosewood J45 and got this one in a trade for a 2017 Martin D28. Seems unique in that it has the "CUSTOM SHOP" label on the back of the neck and "Limited Edition" on the orange label. Headstock is unlike any I have seen. Anyone have any insight into this guitar? Thanks!
  11. I think I just bought this guitar from you a month or so ago. Ha! Small world... I'm digging it!
  12. Problem solved. I have a 1968 Epiphone Cortez that I bought a new EPI case for -- and the Emmy fits it like a glove https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/EL0CS--epiphone-el-0cs
  13. You may be right. Gonna do some measuring. I have an Epi case (EL-OCS) for my 1968 Cortez that I tried and it's too small, width-wise. So the one you suggested may be the one. Thanks
  14. So I ordered a case someone had on Reverb, and it's too small. Apparently the L200's produced later, after the original 50 from 2002, were smaller (same size as CJ165). So now I have case that's too small and still need a case for my original L200. Anyone have a clue where I could find one? What case fits it?
  15. I recently tried Martin Tommy Emmanual flexible core strings (12's) on my J185.Best feel yet. Sound is identical to Martin SP strings, but the touch is softer....
  16. You know, when the action is super low like that and it doesn't buzz anywhere, it's a thing of beauty. It had 10's on it when I got it, and I put 12's on it and had to adjust exactly nothing. That is remarkable -- two string sizes and the guitar doesn't move at all....
  17. Oh yeah, but it doesn't matter. It's got it. As I said, I'm not messing with this one....
  18. "Fire and Rain" every note. Has that JT 1970 J50 tone when fingerpicked -- I mean exact! When strummed it's got that Beatles, Donovan thing. Sonically -- VERY deep without mud. Crisp enough with no harshness.... Not super loud, great to sing over
  19. It feels like 1 5/8" just a tad narrower than the 11/16" standard
  20. I have spent my whole life (and I'm not young) seeking a tone. I finally found it. Traded a 2020 Martin OM21 and a Princeton Reverb reissue for it. It's perfect. Original and 100% crack/break free. Electric guitar action and no buzzing. BIG bottom....
  21. Yeah I don't like new guitars at all. I mean, the modern builds are so well designed, but there is nothing like knowing where a guitar has ended up rather than having to suffer through the thing moving around for ten years until you realize he guitar that left the factory has disappeared and some crappy thing is at your house....
  22. Not brittle at all. The brightness is just pure transient attack, and it is DEEP.... I just love this guitar already. Totally opened up too. No stiffness anywhere
