  1. I may have posted about this on this thread before but I just bought a g400 1966 pro and I got the manual, Allen key sticker and poster. But Epiphone should really update the poster. Turning it over and seeing the discontinued models such as g 400 custom and emperor regent make me kick my self harder for selling my g400 custom....
  2. I have a 92 natural finish. Pros are they are built very well. Cons then bridges have strange string spacing making replacement hard and the electronics and pickups aren't very good. The f holes are also tiny on them. Congrats while having some cons these are great guitars.
  3. It's real. Very rare to find a faked Epi. The owner probably wanted to sand the thick poly finish off. And yes the neck joins at the 17th fret.
  4. Found these online looks like very early 60s when ET first went to Epis Johnny Johnson with a broadway Leon Rhodes with a Sheraton and Ernest with his custom frontier.
  5. Epiphone really needs to update the poster they send out they have a lot of discontinued guitars on it.. like the G-400 custom come on Epiphone lets have a new design and please start putting the cables back in to!
  6. Truss rod tool is fancy term for an Allen wrench...not sure what size though
  7. I wish they would make all there necks laminate....much stronger
  8. I would take it to a more experienced tech if you can looks like more than finish to me where it's at that joint in the heel
  9. I know you get a lot of mail on here but as a huge Sheraton fan I would like to see a reissue of an original Sheraton with the laminate "new york" V shaped neck as a non elist outfit under 1000 dollars like the 62/50 and UJ outfits.

    Thanks

    Chris

  10. 335 pro is basically a dot with block inlays and coil tapping I love mine it's a great guitar. Zzounds has the ice tea burst ones.
  11. Swinging Doors -Cal Smith: Some pretty good Epi action here,a broadway? This is after Leon had departed and Steve Chapman took over on a ice tea looking 335...also love the steel playing in this one
  12. This would have been when he was playing rhythm guitar for ET so he was probably getting his guitars from there deal with gibson....But I think he stuck to Texans even after he left the troubadours.
  13. ERNEST TUBB - LEON RHODES and the Texas Troubadou…: Here's one of my favorites. Also on amazon you can pick up there live in 1965 album...Cal Smith does a great version of Lonesome 77203 one of my favorites also
  14. Yes the great Leon Rhodes used Sheratons with E.T. Pretty sure the first Epiphone acoustic seen with Ernest is a frontier but it is fitted with a custom inlay New York neck left over from the pregibson era. It has the same headstock shape as the early Sheratons that were fitted with them. It appears he got the excellente around 63 as Leon also started playing a red 63 sherry around this time to.
