  1. Thanks for everyone's input. Looks like I'm keeping the Gibby.
  2. Thanks mate, good to hear stick with gibson... Will be interested to hear other opinions.
  3. I've been offered a trade. 2012 gibson USA les Paul junior p90. Plays great haven't bonded with the p90s yet For 1994 Orville by gibson Japan standard. Looks great. I'm sure the Orville is great - what about resale values? I'd like to hang onto the gibson, but am I silly for passing up the Orville by gibson? Opinions?
  4. Blue blooded - I do infact own a USA special junior p90. I think that I'm comparing to my both my fender clean sounds, which I love. Also the noise bugs me as well.
  5. Is it just me, or are p90's best suited to playing with gain? From mild to mad, they sound are unique. But clean.... They're just uninspiring for me.
  6. Yeah I figure that's what I'll be doing. I just didn't expect the p90 hum to be noticeably louder than my tele with quite similar output from the pickups.
  7. Had my first 'at volume' play of my new p90 junior special. Love the tone and thickness of it (I'm a fender guy). Much more in the left hand with the thicker neck. Biggest gripe was the hum from the p90's when not playing. It was extreme. Way more than my tele. Granted it was going into an slightly breaking up amp, with a Timmy stacked with a hotcake. But still loud hum. Is this what I should expect?
  8. If you look on the the gibson website these model specials have the traditional tulip tuners.
  9. Yes that's what I mean by normal. This is mine
  10. No not sure. Just the models I can find have the normal les Paul tuners.
  11. Hi. I've tried uploading pic but file size is too big! It's a 2012 model. Gloss ebony. The button tuners are marked as Kluson deluxe. I assume the original owner just changed the stock ones for a more vintage correct look?
  12. Hi, first post as I'm only just getting my first gibson used. It's on hold for me at the shop but I have a les Paul junior that seems to be an amalgamation of two models. It is this guitar in gloss ebony http://www2.gibson.com/Products/Electric-Guitars/Les-Paul/Gibson-USA/Les-Paul-Junior-Special-P90/Specs.asp But has these tuners http://www2.gibson.com/Products/Electric-Guitars/Les-Paul/Gibson-USA/Les-Paul-Jr-Special-Exclusive.aspx Any reason why, or do you think the original owner changed them.
