At the risk of being the contrarian, I must disagree. I have 4 guitars with Bigsby's. Two came like that and 2 I added. I've had zero tuning issues (I OO NOT dive bomb, but use them for subtle effects only), and string changes take "maybe" five minutes more than a stop bridge guitar. I like having the option of using it or not, and (my opinion only) they look b itchin", so the issue is...???

Not sure I'm of much help here, BUT
I bought a DR100 about 6 years ago, from Sweetwater (USA) as a "beater" guitar, but was pleasantly surprised to find its' quality, for the price, was excellent. To answer your original ?, there is no serial # on the back of the headstock but I do have a sticker on the inside of the body, verifying the model and serial #. Hope this helps.

I must say that I'm a bit surprised that no one has even viewed Charley Patton. I hope that the forum has not fallen out of love for my birthday posts. April has had a lot of birthdays. Anyway, if you don't know of this blues legend, you should check it out. If, on the other hand, you are finding my post tiresome, just let me know and I will cease and desist. Peace!

One of the first "concerts" I ever saw was in the mid '50's when D ick Clark brought his travelling RnR show to town. A young DE was one of the main attractions. He was billed as a "local Boy" having been born in Corning, NY. I grew up (and saw him) in Binghamton, maybo 60 miles or so away. He's been around for a while now. Happy Birthday!

As I've noted before, I'm a big fan of the "Birthday" or whatever posts because:
1.) they expose me to players and/or genres I may or may not have experienced before or
2.) they bring back some of those "oh yeah" memories
Either way is okay with me, keep 'em coming!!

I'm no expert, but I'll mostly second LongMan's comments. I have an Elitist Casino that I bought new from Sweetwater in 2010. A few things:
1. Mine has Grover tuners
2. The inside "sticker" is a "sticker", but it does look like yours
3. It also has the 3 screw truss rod cover, and finally,
4. My serial # also starts with "T1", indicating that it was made in Terada.

Okay, long story short (well, as least not as long as it could be LOL). On a whim, when I was 15, a bunch of us went to see the Kingston Trio (HEY, it WAS 1961, okay?), and I realized about 20 minutes into the show that these guys weren't working, they were having FUN! Told my Dad the next day that I wanted to learn to play the guitar. His only response was "If you're gonna play guitar, you need a Gibson". I guess that would be in honor of his older brother, who played a Gibby mandolin. My first guitar was a Gibson LG-0, that Mom & Dad financed (hey, it cost $85). Wish I still had it because it holds many memories of "sing alongs" in our kitchen and front porch, with friends, neighbors, etc. but it became the down payment for my first electric (a Fender strat) when I started playing in a cover band a couple of years later. And here we are, over 50 years later, and I'm still learning new things on this wonderful instrument.

I've got a trans orange Wildkat that I've had for 4-5 years now. The only mods I've done are Lollar P90's and thanks to Brad, I scrubbed the back of the neck with a Scotchbrite pad which made a lot of difference in the playability. All photo's are on Photobucket, so...
Great guitar for the money.

??? Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Again, if the shape of the headstock turns you off, well...I guess I'm just not that picky...

If the size, shape, or whatever about the headstock is all you're concerned about in a particular guitars "abilities" then you get what you deserve. For myself, what a guitar can do is far more important than the shape on the "headstock". But again, that's just me.

I'm thinking this falls into the "personal preference and no right or wrong answer" category. All points well taken, and thx to OC and QM for chiming in.
In answer to one specific question the OP had, I did look up the DR100 on the Epi site and it does in fact come with D'Addario 12-53's.

A couple of things here. I have a DR100 (as well as other acoustics, including a Masterbilt). I believe (but could be wrong) that Epi uses D'Addario strings on all of their acoustics. I have used D'Addario EXP's phosphour bronze/12-53 on all of my acoustics for years. No issues, and I like 'em.
I read (somewhere) that D'Addario makes about 80% of all strings on the market, although made to each mfgr's specs. Take that FWIW.
Also, and it's IMHO only with no offense inteded to QM or anyone else, taking all of your strings off at the same time is NOT going to affect your truss rod in any way, shape or form. For the few minutes that there is no tension on the neck, it isn't going to matter. Others may disagree but I have almost 2 dozen guitars, acoustic, electric, 6 string and 12, and have been playing/changing strings for over five decades, and I always take off all the strings at once. I've never had any issues. Gives me a good chance to do maintenance, oil the fretboard (if necessary) as well as other things if needed. If you're going to leave all of the strings off for an extended period of time, well, that's another story.

As I've gotten older, certain songs mean more to me than others, whether originals or covers. That said, one that I wrote when I moved quite often early on (13 times in 5 years) gets me going. If I think about just chord progressions and lyrics, I'm fine, but if I associate names and faces and instances, I can become quite emotional. You're not alone. I really think that truly great songwriting comes from personal experience, and how you interpret and portray them.

If you're going to make it with the gold hardware, Bigsby, and custom block inlays....add some neck and headstock binding.
Regardless of hardware color, add the binding. Also, pls explain the switching/pickup options. Liking the Bigsby.

Pretty close here; shredded beef (slow cooker) soft taco's, refried beans, homemade Pico de Gallo. Yeah, I know it's St Pat's day and I'm Irish (one half anyway) but I'm a sucker for Mexican food and lunch leftovers, LOL.
