  1. In n Out does their fries like this. Agreed. Much Better. That said, tonight it's homemade cheeseburgers and onion rings. Hey...it's Friday and we need something easy.
  2. Now that I think about it, I'm spending more time comping and soloing to some backing tracks that I have. Keeps me going...at least for now LOL
  3. Home made Carnitas tonight, but next Sunday this looks a lot like breakfast: http://allrecipes.com/recipe/21661/sausage-egg-and-cheese-scramble/
  4. Been quite cold by CA standards lately, so it's been stews, etc. Tonite is leftover ribs (oven baked, slow and low) and mac salad. Weather says rain for the next few days so it sound like chili, stew, chicken soup, etc. Or whatever else works inside LOL. I see stuffed cabbage and sdalloped potato's on the horizon. PItA to make, but oh boy...
  5. Try these (I've used them forever, not endorsing GC, just the strings): http://www.guitarcenter.com/DAddario/EXP16-Coated-Phosphor-Bronze-Light-Acoustic-Guitar-Strings.gc
  6. So the Mrs has had some dental implant surgery and is on a "soft food" diet for a few days. So after come homemade Chicken soup, tonite we're off on meatloaf and mac and cheese, all homemade of course, And yeehah, I get leftovers.
  7. For whatever reason, these two usually get some play time when I pick up a guitar. Also included are Margaritaville and a few of my own compositions. Also have been playing "Norwegian Wood" in E. Gives your pinky a real workout. Other than that, it's just jammin' to some blues backing tracks. More important than what you're playing is just the fact that you're playing, you know?
  8. Being as how tomorrow is Thanksgiving here in the USA (you know, the day the natives fed the immigrants to keep them from starving), okay, enough of that, tomorrow's dinner is going to be: Prime rib, garlic mashed potatoes, grilled asparagus and cheesecake. Of course the champagne and wine will be flowing freely and we'll have planty of "munchies" on hand, and Mrs G's daughter will be down for the day from LA! Just not enough of us to justify the time and trouble of the Turkey thing. As for prime rib? Well, why not?
  9. Mrs. G is off to the gym tonite, so it's leftover baby back ribs and macaroni salad for me. Well, somebody's got to do it LOL.
  10. Tonite it's left over ribs and store bought potato salad. I'll be flipping back and forth between the NFL game and Presidential debates, and Mrs G is at the gym, so don't want to fvck with cooking LOL.
  11. Pretty close here. Still keeping the "soft food" thing in mind, tonite is oven baked fried chicken (yeah, kind of an oxymoron but hey, search betty crocker recipes) mashed potato's, gravy, veggie tbd, and I can get at least one good leftover out of it too!
  12. Haven't chimed in for a while, but keeping it simple here. Had dental implant surgery earlier this week so the recommendation is "soft food". Did the pasta and sauce, and anything else I could think of. Tonight is leftover soft tacos, refried beans, cheese, etc. and tomorrow morning will be breakfast burrito's. Woohoo!! Tomorrow night...who knows?
  13. Don't ask me why, but I just like this guy's resurgence, and this is tops on my list lately:
  14. FWIW, I've had a Wildkat for about 5 years now. Great little guitar for the money. I really didn't (and still don't) have any tuning issues, but put a Gotoh roller bridge on while having some other work done. I have a few other guitars with a Bigsby, use it very sparingly, but really don't have any tuning issues on any of them, and I do my fair share of bending! YMMV.
  15. Good point(s). I guess that I've been fortunate in that I've probably bought near a dozen guitars online and have not had any arrived damaged. The one that did have a ding (my Elitist Casino) was discovered during Sweetwater's inspection, so I waited for the next one. I've also been "perplexed" in that when the good guitars I've bought that have included a HSC, the case was shipped in a separate box. I'm guessing package size has something to do with it, or in the case of most of the onliners, they just grab a box off the shelf and ship it. Wondering if at some point, the "damaged goods" aspect starts to impact profit and the light bulb goes on to package/deliver better...Nah
  16. Well, here's my two cents. I'd send it back as has been stated. I just looked at Sweetwater's page, and they carry this guitar, although it's not in stock at the moment. When I bought my Elitist Casino a few years ago, it was also backordered, and after a few months I got a call from my rep saying it was in, and was being sent down for their "checklist". Well, later that day I got another call and some email pics with a ding on the back, very similar to yours only not near the binding. They gave me a choice of a discount or wait for another. I opted to wait, much for the reasons stated above (you'll never be happy with it). That's a pretty sweet looking 12 string. I recently bought a Gretsch 54225tdc 12 string and it was about twice the price of that Ibanez, so even at SW's $499 price tag, it still looks like a pretty good deal. And I'd complain if I had to pay return shipping on what is essentially damaged goods. You don't ask, you don't get!! Good luck on whatever you decide, and pics if you replace it LOL!
  17. Have you tried contacting Epi Customer Service/support? I think I'd start there. If not "Google" is obviously your friend. Sorry I can't be of more help.
  18. Thanks for posting that brc. I'd read it and heard it before, especially the part where Les told his Doctor how to "freeze" his arm so he'd be able to play guitar again. As with a lot of things about Les, it's always interesting.
  19. Recently took dlvy on a Masterbilt AJ500M, direct from GC, online order. Came in an Epi sealed box, repacked inside a GC box. Inside the Epi box was the poster, Truss rod wrench, owner's manual, sticker, et al).
  20. I don't know about anyone else, but I absolutely love these threads where there is a very civil discourse, and even difference of opinion, without resorting to deragetory personal comments. And I'm learning a lot in the process!
  21. Well, no. I guess as that 007 guy once said "Never say never". Gotcha now though.
  22. I'd agree with Vomer as to #'s 3 or 4 being the culprit. When I adjust intonation on my guitars, I always use "open/harmonic @ 12th/fretted @ 12th until they match, so I agree that the harmonic is a part of the process. As for harmonics eluding you and never use them, I'd disagree. You can get some very nice effects in your playing by using the ocassional harmonic note(s). YMMV and as always, it's just IMHO
  23. For some reason, I can't multi quote, but see my post #126. Short story - you should get it all.
  24. From this photo, it also looks like it has binding on the neck which the Dot doesn't http://www.epiphone.com/News/Features/Features/2012/Ltd-Edition-ES-335-PRO-The-sound-of-rock-and-roll.aspx
