  1. Apologies if I my point was unclear.. Basically, there were great Vintage Guitars & there were crap Vintage Guitars.. There were great later year Guitars & there were later year Guitars that were crap.. There are great new Guitars & there new Guitars that are crap... Even the same year, make & model can & do vary.. No 2 are exactly the same...... When you play a really good Guitar you will know...... It’s magic..
  2. The point is, you gotta try ‘em before you buy ‘em..... No matter what year...
  3. My 1959 Gibson ES345 sounded better than any of the many Guitars I’ve owned over the years & the thousands I have played.. It is not a myth.. My current 335 & LP’s sound almost as good... But, you do have to try them out... Not all Guitars are created equal... Old or New....
  4. The truth. There are great, good, not so good & bad Guitars... From every era. IMO, no 2 Guitars are exactly the same.. Although, modern Guitars are more consistent... If you could go out & try 3 LP’s from ‘59, ‘67, ‘97, ‘15 or 2021 you’ll find you like one of each better than the others.. Why? Who knows? It just is...
  5. Listened to some YouTube’s & those pups sound great... My 2013 Memphis ES335 has Classics which sound great also.. I think Gibson is building some really great higher end Guitars in recent years.. Some of their best!
  6. I agree. I pride myself in keeping my Guitars in excellent condition. I have trouble keeping my most played Guitars in their Case though.. It seems they close up in the Case & it takes a good amount of time to open up. Sound wise.. But, keeping it in the Case will prevent Greening... Congrats! I’ve been wanting a Scotty Moore ES295 too.. Awesome Guitars!
  7. And they’re pretty scarce... Like the recent discontinued ES Les Paul Goldtop VOS with P90’s & Bigsby.. Amazing Guitar & weighs 7 1/2 lbs... Ideal for us older dudes who no longer want to Sling 10 lb + Guitars....
  8. Just maintain excellent Quality Control...
  9. He did all right with a Tele! Fender, like Gibson, makes some really great Guitars.. I love my 40th Anniv. Strat, 69 RI Thinline Tele, AV65 Jazzmaster & AV65 Jaguar... All are completely different than my Gibsons.. Together I have an almost never ending palette of Sounds & Tones.. As well as some beautiful Works of Art..
  10. Beautiful shade of Red! What are calibrated Pickups? Not familiar with them.. Gibson has no shortage of Humbucker Pickups!
  11. With the millions of Guitars that exist today it’s impossible to know what the future Collector Guitars will be. Good Care & normal maintenance are essential for all Guitars.. You’ve got a great Guitar, you should play it & take good care of it but don’t let it own you... Let that Guitar know you own it.. Love it, Dig it & Play the heck out of it in the here & now. The future will be what the future will be... Enjoy.....
  12. That was the only one I saw too.. Very cool Guitar!
  13. I was looking for them on YouTube & there were a handful.. Doesn’t see like many were produced... But, it looks & sounds great! Congrats!
  14. Great! Look forward to Pics & review...
  15. I’ve been thinking of adding a long Maestro Vibrola to my Gibson Firebird V.. Which is also a 2013 with Steinberger's which tunes to perfect precision & really holds the tune. Great Sounding Guitar! Isn’t it better to use a USA Gibson Maestro Vibrola?
  16. Why didn’t you contact Gibson Customer Service & do a Warranty Claim? They would’ve repaired or replaced it..... It could’ve been caused by many things as mentioned above. Probably an uneven Fret...
  17. I’ve always been pretty lucky.. I got the nick name Lucky...
  18. Very cool TV Yellow LP Special.. P90’s Rule! Enjoy..
  19. I prefer Ebony to Rosewood... That said, periodically I use lemon oil on my Rosewood necks & they look dark & beautiful... no issues... Its probably the same with that new Guitar... A little lemon oil & it will be darker & beautiful too... If it isn’t & you don’t like it, you can always return it....
  20. There are pages of brand new Gibson ES335’s at many Retailers on Reverb.com... here’s one page... Good luck https://reverb.com/marketplace?query=gibson es335&product_type=electric-guitars&make=gibson&condition=new&page=2
  21. I love my 335... If I were to get one of the small Bodies I’d prefer the ES390 with P90’s & I’d put a B-7 Bigsby on it..... Very cool Guitar & completely different Sound than an ES335...
  22. Gibson has been producing some new Artist models this past year.. Slash has a few.. Kirk Douglas & some others... ??? You can’t find a Used Gibson ES Les Paul Goldtop with P90’s & Bigsby.. New ones sold out a few years ago & very quickly...
  23. Dear Gibson, Will you please reissue this Guitar.... http://legacy.gibson.com/Products/Electric-Guitars/2016/Memphis/ES-Les-Paul-Gold-top-P-90-w-Bigsby-VOS.aspx
  24. Gibson USA P90’s do sound really good on my Gibson Les Paul Special... But, they sound equally as good on my Hollow Body Epiphone Casinos with Gibson USA P90’s.. I dig P90’s!
