  2. You know, the big three's excuse that. "nobody WANTS them anymore" rings hollow considering the number of people I've talked to who said they'll buy any new car that offers them a CD player. Me included. But no longer wishing to get back into the monthly car note treadmill, I might even check into if the local Chevrolet dealership can hunt one down for me. That or be able to repair the one I already have. Whitefang
  3. "Gold And Rose"--Jimi Hendrix Whitefang
  4. 1. Yes, I do point out whenever somebody uses the wrong word, or spelling of a word(like "to" instead of "too" etc.)And when I do the same I appreciate having it pointed out, and when it is, I find it best to be gracious instead of throwing a "hissy". 2. I don't know how many times I've mentioned that because I take blood thinners(coumadin in this case) so therefore can't take aspirin, Naproxin (Aleeve), or ibuprofen( Advil, Motrin) But allowing you may not have been aware of that and you may have been just trying to help, I also appreciate the suggestion. 5. Down here in the Detroit area it doesn't look to be as bad as they're trying to tell us it is. Not to me anyway. appears to be the normal amount of hazefor the Downriver area I've seen since I was a kid. And with three months to go I suspect(hope) by then the worst of it will have passed. But that's no guarantee. Whitefang
  6. I don't know of anywhere over here that has a hospital dental unit. Not for roughly 60 + years. For your procedure here you'd be referred to an Oral Surgeon. I had to get similar work done in '71. My Grandmother took me to get it done. The surgeon knocked me out with sodium pentothal. Next thing I remember was the nurse helping my Grandmother drag my dead butt to her car while all the time I kept telling the nurse how beautiful she was. Whitefang
  7. "I Don't Care Anymore"--Phil Collins Whitefang
  8. Especially from your wife. Whitefang
  9. Nope. Just couldn't see what I was doing through all this smoke! Obviously, this 99.8 fever is taking a toll. I can't take aspirin so I take Tylenol as a fever reducer. My temp will go down some, but doesn't do anything for the overall"blah" feeling. I appreciate your pointing that out. Whitefang
  10. "Ahab The A-Rab" ---Ray Stevens Whitefang
  11. What scares me is that based on that comment, my greatest fear is that it'll be used heavily in the medical field. What Maxim described sounded much like my doctor. 😱 Whitefang
  12. Ain't it the "Schlitz" And now some are saying I shouldn't have too many doors or windows open. And of course, nobody is opening their wallets promising to help me with my energy bill from running the A/C more than need be. Wghitefang
  13. Nothing amuses me more than drunks "discussing" which is the best thing to abuse your liver with. And there really isn't a "best" or "worst" beer, ale or liquor. The opinion changes from one drunk to another. And their taste buds and brain cells are so pickled they haven't the slightest idea what the f**k they're talking about. Look. I understand. I went through that phase 50 or so years ago. Michigan changed the legal drinking age from 21 to 18 on Jan. 1st, 1972. Oddly enough the same year I would have turned 21 anyway. So big whup. Well, one afternoon while sitting in a bar across from where my apartment was, it dawned on me that I had just paid the price of a six pack at my closest beer and wine store. and for only ONE BEER! So, I quit going to bars since I found I could drink cheaper at home, get just as buzzed, and I get to play the music I prefer. I also noticed that Icould smoke all the "herb" I wanted and wake up next morning feeling just fine. But I couldn't drink all the beer, wine or liquor I wanted to at night and feel anything but sick as a dog next morning. Plus I never liked the feeling of being drunk. so I gave it up. My only "liquor" intake since 1976 has been only wine(preferably Opici Lambrusco and a Reisling Spatlese) and an occasional beer(Lowenbrau Dark) nursed for an hour or two. And maybe the occasional celebratory glass of Asti Spumante to ring in the new year. And BTW......Michigan changed their legal drinking age back to 21 by the mid '70's. I can't remember whenever it was that I had my last alcoholic drink of anything. Whitefang
  14. "Young Love"--Sonny James BTW--What happened up there? Whitefang
  15. I can agree with that up to a point. But you can't really seriously believe that all cops have always done the right thing all the time and not sound foolish. Whitefang
  16. Ha! Yeah, laying on that package rack was a nice ride. Until, like you said, Dad hit heavy on the brake. Yeah. And ride bikes without wearing helmets, knee pads and elbow pads. I wouldn't remember those because when I was a kid we didn't own a Japanese vehicle. In fact, nobody ANYWHERE owned a Japanese vehicle until I was in my mid teens. Whitefang
  17. Coming up with some other names, and apologies if any of them were already mentioned... WEATHER REPORT SPYRO GYRA RETURN TO FOREVER SWEET PAVLOV'S DOG SQUEEZE SOFT MACHINE THYME SRC ELECTRIC FLAG RATCHELL Whtefang

  19. That is sad. Especially when I think of how many bosses I've had where news like that would have me doing back flips! I can count all the bosses I've had that news of their death would really be a bummer. on one hand. With a finger or two left over. Since you stated he wasn't your only boss, your grief at his loss will be salve to his surviving family.Apparently he wasn't merely a boss, but a friend as well. Whitefang
  20. I'd like to say that. But if you're meaning recreational drugs, well, that's different. It's about the same amount of time for me too. Right now all those fun drugs have been replaced by Beta Blockers, diuretics and blood thinners. I take FAR more pills now than I ever did when dopin'. But the title of this thread; "We all get older, right?" Well there's one answer to that query..... Hopefully. Whitefang
  21. That was at a time when FM was starting to take over and nobody was paying Billboard charts and that kind of thing any more serious consideration. If you recall( if it was done in your area) AM top 40 stations would print their own record rating leaflets you could pick up for free at record stores. Each AM station rated songs based on their particular(and maybe peculiar) criteria. I remember one AM station rating "Help" by The Beatles at #1 while another station had it at #3 And on track, I also remember the big horse laugh the Detroit audience gave Cream when they (Jack Bruce did the talking) introduced the next song they were going to play as, "Our hit." People into FM up here quit paying attention to "charts" and "Hits" by the end of '67. They thought it(and I still do) arbitrary and stupid. Like an attempt to persuade people what to like and what not to. Whitefang
  22. "Killer Joe"--The Rocky Fellers Whitefang
  23. Hey DUB! You left the "L" out of "guilt". Whitefang
