Anyone know why these, what appear to be dowels, are doing in this mid 80’s Flying V? no breaks anywhere or signs of any type of repair. I discovered this after stripping the paint, although I do not believe the paint to be original.

Seems like there is a discrepancy in dates here. I did watch a video where it was said that Gibson changed back it's serial number dating to 1st & 5th number year in 2020. So I do believe this is a 2022.

Can someone tell me the year built for this les paul? Serial number: 203820388
