  1. I apologize for not getting back to you.

I don't recall the french firebird but will review archives again to possibly come up with a connection.

  3. Parabar, I don't imagine Epi birds are built with a through body neck like the originals, but what's your "take" on the bolt or set neck? (Oringo has had a few versions too & I'd be interested in any thoughts "youze guys" would have) Someday, somehow I'm getting a 6string bird, be it Epi or Orville to have alongside the '66 Gibby12string. Answer to the post: Yes, Epi birds are that good especially with miniHBs.
  4. Each to their own but I like any Firebird, non or reverse, P90s or miniHBs, Gibby, Orville or Epi. As far as looks go, the non-reverse appeals more to me. Funny too as Gibson was "shying away" from a lawsuit, their non reverse looks and feels more "Jaguarish" than the orig. reverse. And there is something to be said about the unbalanced feel of them. -Makes you really become part of the play/sound. JMO.
  5. My Emperor II JP VS (Saein-2000) is beautiful, flawless & a real joy to play. I'm now having "issues" with the wiring & will be upgrading soon. That production wiring/pots is the only thing I can find fault with, so overall IMO, The Saein Factory makes a fine guitar. Of course I can only "speak for myself or of this very guitar"
  6. I like them both. If given a "only one or the other", I'd go with the non-reverse.
  7. Most Gibbys & EPIs jazz boxes are 12. As a matter of fact, that new LowRider RockSteady bridge by TruArc should be here within days. Mine is a custom in Copper to fit the orig. bridge posts on the Emperor II Joe Pass. They were designed initially for Gretschs but I wanted to replace the ebonywood with something more substantial. Will post pix soon.
