  1. Some Thai/Indian (can't be arsed to go out into the kitchen and look... from somewhere where they make good chicken dishes) chicken TV dinner thingy. Not bad at all. Of course, it's definitely made somewhere else, but really good. "Chicken Epiphone", I'm gonna call it.
  2. I'd settle for the amp. It's not like that pic jag makes me involuntarily change underpants. Then again, guilty as charged - I saw her "Rig rundown", and few things are hotter than women who are passionate about guitars. Meat of the matter: haven't played one, think it looks too girly, can't afford one. In no particular order.
  3. I have leftovers from the salad bar, a falafel roll and six Budweisers. A k a summer food.
  4. James: gotcha. The 50s Tributes... Played one? I'm sure some people like that baseball bat neck. Cured my GAS in three seconds flat ;)
  5. I wouldn't put a tulip in my window, I sure won't put one on my guitar. Seriously though, what's wrong with Grovers? I find if you properly stretch your strings and make sure nothing's loose at the bridge, they're great. IMHO.
  6. My folks know that my financial straits are dire, so they surprised me with a bag of groceries! Since I got a bunch of sliced ham, it's a full-on ham-fest. Because what goes better with ham than more ham? And what would I be if I died tonight and didn't finish all the ham first? A dead tosser who missed out on a bunch of ham, that's what. Blessed to have my folks. And I make a point of telling them that.
  7. A lot of Motörhead, and Portlanders Poison Idea. "Confuse and conquer" was surprisingly good. I actually prefer it to the last album they did with Pig on guitar.
  8. Beans, seasoned with salt I borrowed from a McDonalds. Still living the dream...
  9. Bill Bailey - "Love song". Natch, you should buy the dvd before you Youtube it! If you haven't - Youtube it. You will. God, I love Bill. Some of the UK folks on here may remember him as "Manny" from "Black Books".
  10. Today: Guns N' Roses - My Michelle. Check out the "how to play..." vid on Youtube. What Izzy does on the intro isn't rocket science, but I still went, how did you come up with that?! You were in your early twenties and on everything illicit on the planet. How did you even find the time...? Skinny Puppy - Love in vein. Very "uneven" band, but this one is Ogre and co distilled. Sixx A.M. - Pray for me. That's Ashba, right? Wonder who wrote the riff. Awesome. Pinch - unmixed taps. Wonderful player and person. Exceptionally well-endowed.
  11. Personally I don't, or att least like to think I don't! I was thinking more of someone who buys his or her first guitar ever. Sure, they could download the manual... but not the truss rod wrench. Plus, it reflects badly on the brand if people get different stuff when they buy the guitar model, IMHO. Just my 2 cents.
  12. I'm guessing many stores sell Epi's to people who buy one as their first guitar. So I guess some stores feel they can get away with it, and do. I understand the boxes take up space, but at least put the swag bags aside and hand them out with each guitar. No manual and no wrench is, IMHO, unacceptable.
  13. Ghost - or Ghost B.C. to the Americans, for copyright reasons. Twin Gibby RDs, custom paint jobs (you can't really tell, though...). YouTube links: Ghost playing the Main Square Fest in France: (Thing I noticed: first time I watched this, when I saw Alpha handing over his RD to his tech at 06:05, I went "are you NUTS?!" You don't let a guitar like that out of your SIGHT!! ) Nameless Ghoul on his RD: Ghost covering Roky Erickson's "If you have ghosts" on Aussie TV: "Year Zero", promo video. Listen to the very basic but oh-so-effective solo at 02:55. You may have to rewind for reasons that will become clear, though: Great interview: Let's have one more live-in-the-studio-song. Listen to the RDs in the intro. That - right there - is why I love Gibsons: A little kid interviewing the same guy - pretty cool, actually!: Stoked on "Infestissumam" (believe you me - that album will be up there with the early Sabbath stuff on charts in 50 years' time), and looking forward to the new one.
  14. My V, too, had that POWERFUL vanilla smell. I'm sad to say it's starting to go away. Gibson needs to look into making it a perfume. "For the sophisticated lady hoping to land a guy who won't leave the house two weeks after NGD, because he's busy smelling his guitar"
