  1. howzit from hawaii @darkness99!

  2. rest in aloha bb king... thank you for all of the tips and memories... and thank you for your lucille guitar! you will be thoroughly missed. awesome guitar! I got my guitar set up and action lowered by guitar tech. I installed hotter bare knuckle "mule" pickups in the neck and bridge, changed out the t6 tailpiece for the gibson's stop bar tail piece, and graph tech graphite bridge saddles in my lucille. she plays like butter and sounds so sexy! standing/carrying her during 3 hour sets get brutal... sometimes... shucks! maybe I should keep a chair on stage?

  6. aloha @anubisxii! I don't know if this helps but back in the 80's my very good friend gave me a gibson flying v with no finish. it was a standard mahogany body no frills with block inlays
  7. aloha @pieandapint! I was going to get a es339, when I bumped into a lucille. awesome choice with your es339! I don't have problems with my strings going out of tune since I changed my tp-6 tailpiece to a stop bar tailpiece. I believe your es339 comes with a stop bar tailpiece. the only thing I can think of why your guitar goes out of tune is that you do a lot of bending with that string. when I put on new set of strings I put the string though the peg head. I mark and cut of 1.5" leeway from the peg. I then put the string back through the peg head. then tighten till the string is tuned. I bend a lot and hardly go out of tune during a set. hope this helps you!
  8. I have a 1990 gibson chet atkins sst. I have gibson masterbuilt premium phosphor bronze strings on mine. gauges 10-12-22w-27-36-47. I'm sure you can use any steel string sets on your guitar, providing it's not a nylon style chet atkins sst. I have my treble and bass knobs on 5 out of 10. it's pretty balanced. I'm sure if you use a equalizer stompbox or rack you'll be able to take down the harsh bottom end lows. as long as the bottom e isn't buzzing on the frets while you play, you should be good with an equalizer. happy playing!
  9. great to know @l5larry! thanks for the heads up! I do appreciate it!
