  1. Not real found of it but its ok. Debbie loved them playing her favorite out of 4 concerts we saw together. Think she saw them once or twice before we married? She loves "Out in the country." I actually like them all.
  2. Thats a relief, I'm not alone Lol.
  3. I couldn't tell you one name in 3 Dog Night, original or now. I only know 3 of the Eagles and I've seen them 5 times now. I cannot remember how solos go to save my life. I can chord and play lead on all my old songs I learned at 13. I still can remember the firing order on the race cars I raced in the 70's. But what I had for lunch a few hours ago? Nope. So is that just old age? I noticed Deb has some issues too.
  4. Hi Sgt. I can remember seeing 3 Dog Night many times in the past, But just not last year. Once at the Holland Center in Omaha, the sound system went out. only those whom were on the floor could hear them We were on the top and heard nothing. So since they couldn't fix it, the theater gave us free tickets for the next performance but it was for someone else.
  5. Here is what Deb did, It's funny. She has tickets for us to see Chicago this year. But since I cannot remember seeing 3 Dog Night at all last year with the grand kids, she bought tickets to see them again this year. Now I still remember just seeing the Eagles last tour and Steely Dan. They were great. But Joe Walsh was having trouble remembering the lyrics. Maybe that's why their last tour? He didn't look right, like something was the matter with him.
  6. Hi Sparky. Yeah, that dang brain tumor, plus all the crap they poured in me as a guiny pig experiment screwed up my memory way back. I mean, I played chess all my life, still do. I used to be able to think in my head, 3 different chess variations in 13 moves in advance when playing people. Right after the surgery, that disappeared. I was lucky to think only one move at a time after that. Guys like experts I beat. Right after still in the hospital some guy who knew nothing about it beat me. I too cant remember what I just ate an hour after. Often I ask Deb, Have we eaten yet? Maybe its the beginnings of Dementia? That also runs in my family. But my long term memory is still good.
  7. Why did the cat run away from the tree? It was afraid of its bark, The bark scared him.
  8. I do not remember that at all. She was saying we saw them at the Holland Center with the 2 grand children. Reagan said she enjoyed it very much but Grayson was bored stiff & hungry. His Dad asked him if he enjoyed that concert and whom did he see? Grayson said The DOGS! Lol. Guess I'm worse with my short term memory. Maybe Dementia has set in already?
  9. Deb tells me we saw 3 Dog Night last year.
  10. A farmer heard some noise way back by his large pond. So he grabbed a bucket and went back to investigate. Once there, he saw 4 nice looking ladies swimming in his pond naked. The gals said, We are not getting out with you standing there. "OH, he said, I didn't come back here to make you get out, I came back here to feed the Alligators.
  11. I always talk to my dogs. Iv'e had lots of people ask me, "What did he say?" I make up something and that think he really talks to me. Lol.
  12. I wish I could play different instruments well like you Notes. My wife and oldest sister play piano. I asked Deb if she thought I could learn piano in my old age. Is it difficult? Looks easier than guitar.
  13. We just saw The Eagles a couple of days ago. Don Henley said, We have been practicing and playing the same songs for over a half century, someone asked us how much we practice now. We don't. I think after 50 years of playing together, We pretty much got it down now. Lol After I retired I practiced at least 3 to 6 hours a day. I have been playing House of the Rising Sun since I was 13. My main song I play first when I play. I have been playing for 57 years. I think I got it done to Haha.
  14. You the man RC. I had no clue either.
  15. Did I tell you in grade school, I had a teacher that wanted me to do a pencil sketch of a battle scene against a castle and ships with cannon balls? She made me stay in recess everyday to work on it. One day I was looking out seeing the kids play and she came buy and grabbed it and tore it up and said, Go out and play. That sort of bothered me with her after that. Then I did pottery in Middle school and the teacher forgot to turn the kiln off after school. Everything in that kiln blew up and had a huge mess in it except my vase I did. All the glaze ran off and left an old antique looking vase from historic days. I had some chips from those explosions. She wanted to buy it real bad. So her and my mom did a bidding war to see who wanted it more. Eventually, My mom said, "If she wants it that bad, let her have it.
  16. LOL. It used to embarrass me when I did them. The other students looked at my painting and said, "Oh Mrs. Whatever her name was, "He's doing another one! They all loved my horses. I always wanted one but that never happened. I can tell you the stories. I won a scholarship but turned it down for drag racing in the NHRA. Had 3 different race cars. I even did the letters on 2 of them.
  17. Did I answer this Sparky? Let's just say I liked dad and we spent time together a lot. But I never wanted to be like him. He was cruel, Had a very bad temper. As a toddler he beat my mom. He cussed out her and my two sisters a lot but not me as he loved me as the only son. He was extremely prejudiced. I didn't like anything about him except he was a good artist and taught me to draw in the 2nd grade. I took art all through school winning many art fairs. I won a scholarship in High School for Art. I did many paintings and drawings for the guys at BNSF RR. Even retirement paintings for them. Dad and I used to have contests together to see who was the better artist. He always beat and mom was our judge. Till I became a teen around 13 and I started beating him every time. Then he quit doing it. I've done Horses all the time as a youth. Till in high school, I had a art teacher who refused to give me an A if I did a horse. So I started to do other stuff and got straight A's. Today I do Scenery, People, Dogs, Mostly Wild Life. and Plaines, Trains, Cars. I love doing Race cars. I used to race cars through the quarter mile.
  18. When dad was alive, our names were always confused. Even after I was married. I told him a few times I was going to have it changed to Butch, which is my nick name. That ticked him off.
  19. Yep. I ca't even here or should say understand people on the phone anymore. I never answer it. Wouldn't do any good any way. My wife makes all appointments for me.
  20. Your grandson should have a good time. I remember when I showed my son to shoot. I just wanted to educate him on guns and never play with one. He has over half my collection now. I don't shoot at all anymore with my hearing so bad.
  21. Did I mention my wife & I went to The Eagles concert last night? Steely Dan was the warm up band. Now music has never seemed the same since I retired. Just doesn't sound right anymore. Even with aides. To start with, I put them on crowd. That blocks all background audience noise. When Steely Dan came out they sounded great. Of course I could't hear a word what Deb said to me on my right. She was blocked off also. But I was impressed with the music and it sounded great like what I always remembered. Then The Eagles came and they were great also. I enjoyed both bands. Not too loud either. Then at the end after standing ovation, I figured they were done so I turned my Thrive on the cell phone to Normal to the original setting and they played one more song. Man was it loud. Nothing like the Eagle concerts in the past. I've heard louder though and I asked Deb, were they that loud all concert? YEP she said. That was too bad but my aides did work.
  22. You know what irritated me the most with just WAY Too DARN LOUD? Rock and Roll concerts we've been to over all the years. We have been to hundreds of them. Many were pleasant to go to and we enjoyed them very much. I remember some big names we saw, Blues, Rock N Roll, Country, so on. And they come out and are so darn fricken' loud That we had to leave. Sometimes I removed my hearing aids and shoved roll up ear plugs down to my ear drums so I could listen. Even then they were way too loud. What does that do to the Audience? Nothing, those go down as terrible bands and many refuse to go to them again. You don't have to play at the top loudest settings to be heard folks. Plus you ruin your hearing as well. The Eagles have been pleasant to go to and we seen them I think 4 or 5 times now. We are going to see them again tonight. One Blues band we saw had a warm up band first. Muddy Waters or something like that. He was fine but not the warm up band. He was an excellent guitarist but way too darn loud. I hated every minute.
  23. I doubt it very much. Probably didn't expect half of you to live anyway. But at the Railroad, we were given the top grade on the market of hearing protection and we all used it every day. If not you would be written up for violation and everyone had extreme hearing loss before they retired.
  24. Aways wondered about the guys in war hearing all those bombs and such?
