  1. Whats the lettering on the tuners? It doesnt seem to be gotoh, kluson, deluxe or gibson .
  2. cesargb means pictures of the guitar. the profile, the headstock, the controls etc. More is better. A pic of whats under the TRC is helpful too
  3. I don't know what you have, but you appear to be right about the serial number. Whats the lettering on the tuners? It doesnt seem to be gotoh, kluson, deluxe or gibson
  4. That looks just exactly like rosewood looks.
  5. Hi Joe, welcome to the old folks home forum. You gave me a genuine lol there.
  6. I cheat & lie to myself. I don't count basses or the Variax (because they are for the studio). I don't count the plastic guitar either. In fact when I'm asked how many I have, I say 7 working guitars & a 'couple' of fun ones. The real figure is about double that. I cant even realistically say 'working guitars' any more either, because gigs are almost completely gone now. Before 2015 I had just one working guitar and regular gigs. I am Merciful Evans and I have a guitar problem... 🙉🙈
  7. the ebony board would interest me v much if the pickup was at the neck position.
  8. I was curious what the fingerboard wood was on that HB. Its listed as 'amaranth'. I've never heard of this, but one site reports that's its listed harder than maple on the Janka scale.
  9. try it with 'beer can'. Thats 'bacon' in a Caribbean accent.
  10. Doctor told me I should walk a mile every day for a month and then call him. He asked me how I got on. I told him I was 30 miles from home.
  11. A prerequisite would being able to sight read I think. I cant. I mostly 'fake it'.
  12. Yes, its uncommon now isn't it? I'm fed up with the present notion that truth is a lifestyle choice.
  13. That is a beauty Ian. Those are two good stories too. I would love to get a better one myself. I just bought the loudest one in the shop. Sadly, the trade off is that its a bugg@r to play. I'm sure you'll enjoy getting your classical chops back.
  14. It hurts to admit, and many will disagree with me, but Mayall & Mac was his finest work IMO. Remember he was sick & didn't play for years. There is still stuff from that era that's worth finding though. You could start with the link IanHenry posted 4 post back. I now have a MP3 of that. There are various versions of Live in Boston around. Those are great. Live at the BBC double CD is pretty good too.
  15. They're bored. Its like a trained chef being told he has to cook bacon and eggs every day for the rest of his career. I reckon that's why Fender did the 'alternative reality' series.
  16. really enjoyed that. Thanks unc! 👌👍
  17. Lady Cherry has got a fox problem. It keeps stealing her stuff. So far its made off with one of her shoes and a new pair of gardening gloves. It also pulled a towel off her washing line and sh@t in it.
  18. Other than play guitar, did nothing today. Didn't even shave (Lady Cherry is away). Funny thing about shaving. A friend of mine has grown a full set beard, and like most people has been unable to get a haircut for 6 months. Well, he met up with another friend who looked exactly the same. The concensus was that Covid has made us all look like desert Island castaways.
  19. Welcome Scott. I'm sure that guitar of yours will help to make practice enjoyable.
  20. Good. Keep it fun & keep it going. Its a nice guitar. 🙂
  21. So between you & kidblast there are big votes for yes. Though I don't (currently) suffer back problems with a footstool, I will look into these! 👍
  22. Interesting comment from Gibson. So now you've dug it out again, are you going to try to play it now?
  23. Caution Do Not Stop On Tracks - Grateful Dead
  24. Also it will minimize body damping!
