6.05am: Figured out Perfidia and fingerpicked it acoustically on the 650C. Wedged the lower bout into the chair to get some extra resonance. Played it in G. I think it might play easier in another key though... Walked 7 miles so far (at 16.20 GMT).

Just had a band meet. Drink and curry diner in Southampton. Well I missed the others for the drink as my phone lost its charge at a critical moment.

I haven't used a pedal since the 1970s. Maybe a channel switch once in a while. But no FX Looks like a money magnet market too

Met my girlfriends family this morning. We breakfasted together at their hotel. The kids drew me some pictures which I have at home now. Played guitar. Then more family dropped by unexpectedly. Now enjoying coffee. Shortly will walk to my son's house to feed the cats (he & fiance are sking in Austria). Then on to dance classes this evening.

I thought I'd lost the cat. Then I got to the gig....

One of my favourite LP finishes. I tried out a similar looking standard 5 years back. Less common but still great looking. I think a Studio version would have suited me better too. Enjoy!

I would not accept that guitar. I have rejected others for the same reason. Yes a small bias to the bass side is good, but that is misaligned. String spacing and spread is a big deal for me, and its the biggest issue I have with Fenders.

all SGs are fake. There's never been a real one 😉

Alzheimer's Society. They've been very helpful to me and loved ones over the years & I have been proud to support them where able & still do. Made some good lasting friendships through support groups too.

ideally its just the way Eracer_Team described. You know the right guitar pretty quick after handling / hearing it. It chooses the player. However, I have bought 6 guitars mail order. Only one was a out and out disaster. A hybrid Flaxwood from Thomann. It sounded as horrible as it handled. Of the other 5, I've been really exceptionally lucky. My Les Paul was actually bought via Amazon. It turned out to be a better guitar than the identical model I had tried out locally. Money choose the finish. I preferred the look of the teaburst but bought the fireburst because it was a couple of hundred quid cheaper. Easy!

Given that all guitars sound a little different from each other, it makes it harder to tell what you are listening for. Whether its weight relief, cap or neck wood; personally I find no reliable distinct difference in sound other than acoustic volume (for chambering). All other things being equal.
