  1. Thanks for that but I see the seller won't ship to the UK.
  2. Was it easy to remove the chrome covers?
  3. I love my Epi Blues Custom 30 but I know a lot of people don't think much of them. It's all valve of course and has a really bluesy tone to it and very loud. The only real problem is the weight, I'm talking H E A V Y!! There are a couple of demos on youtube if you haven't heard one.
  4. OK. does anybody have an Epiphone Zephyr Blues Deluxe for sale ???
  5. I saw one of these on an old video of Dave Edmunds and it was love at first sight (with the guitar ok?). Did some research and found one for sale for £12,000, so decided not to bother! Anyway, a mad scheme started forming in my head, how about converting an Epi Broadway. The Broadway looks to be the closest, body wise? Has anybody got any thoughts? Or has anybody done this?
  6. Rewired the 'Kat over the weekend. Used RG174 AU wire. What a difference, really bright, almost Gretschy. Might not bother replacing the pickups now, have to see how it goes. Thanks for the input Guys!
  7. The point is we like what we like for our own reasons. Don't flame the other guy's choice. For me Epis fit the bill perfectly, I could buy Gibson, a couple of grand isn't a fortune these days but I don't gig anymore so why bother?
  8. Typical brand snobbery!! He likes Gibsons, I like Epis, some people like Fenders. So what?? He thinks he's better because his axes cost more bucks. It's sad really.
  9. Thanks for the replies. You've got me thinking now that I will go for new PUs and do a rewire at the same time. I haven't come across Lollars, I was thinking of Seymour Duncans. What does anybody think of these? I have SD humbuckers on my White Lightning and they are excellent. BTW, love your Kat Dennis G.
  10. I'd like to fit black covers to the P90s on my Wildkat but the stock covers seem to be soldered on. Is it ok just to get the soldering iron out and remove them and put black covers on? Has anybody done this?
  11. Just got a Tommy Thayer White Lightning. Lovely piece of kit, quite low key customisation, not flashy at all. The Seymour Duncans are really powerful, far better than Epiphone's own humbuckers. Has Grovers too.
  12. Apparently it arrived in the Netherlands last week so won't be long now I hope
  13. I was amazed to get an email from Epiphone to say that I am the European winner of the Tommy Thayer White Lightning. I'm still waiting to hear that it's been shipped though. It's been about 6 weeks now and they still can't tell me when It is going to come. Is this normal?
