  1. I put a set of Kluson Revolution locking tuners on my Epi Riviera P93. The holes on the headstock needed to be reamed to make room for the bushings. I liked them so much I also put a set on my Warmoth build (not shown).
  2. @Apostata The stock wiring for the Epiphone Riviera Custom P93 guitar is that each pickup has its own volume control and there is one master tone control that governs all three pickups. To switch between pickups, the toggle switch in the up position is set to neck/middle, in the center position is set to bridge/middle/neck and in the down position is set to bridge/middle. You can isolate individual pickups by turning the volume controls down on the other pickups. I contacted Epiphone customer service before upgrading the electronics in my guitar and they sent me a wiring schematic for the DOT 3 P90 guitar. They did not have one specifically for the Riviera P93. The configuration you referenced in your first post is for the Epiphone Black Beauty guitar, that has three humbuckers with two volume controls and two tone controls. I asked my guitar tech about changing my Riviera to the Black Beauty configuration so that I can get more differentiation across pickups. He said it can be done, but I would need to add a capacitor for to the second tone control. If I recall correctly, he also said I would need a different toggle switch, but I don't recall why.
  3. Apostata - Not sure if this helps, but here is a pic of my Epiphone Riviera Custom P93 guitar. If you are a newbie as you say, I agree with others here and strongly suggest that you go to an experienced guitar tech for a professional set-up. A good tech will ask you what your concerns are and how you like your guitar set, then take measurements upfront, explain everything he intends to do during the set-up and provide you with the measurements for how he set your guitar when you pick it up. Have the tech put a fresh set of strings on with the gauge you want to use. If your pickup height is a concern, you can purchase dog ear shims of different widths to adjust the pickup height to your preference. I bought a set from Lollar when I purchased replacement pickups for my guitar. I believe Fralin also sells them. They are very easy to install. If you buy a set, you can experiment with different pickup heights and see for yourself the trade-offs for raising or lowering the pickups. Good luck!
  4. "Hummingbird" inspired by Joe Bonamassa's rendition tonight at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, CA. Joe dedicated the song to the late great Leon Russell who wrote the song. I can't play the leads anywhere near the way Joe plays them, but its fun to strum along to the rhythm.
