  1. All good advice. I agree that it sounds like the nut rather than the tuners. If it's the nut that can be on any string, but it's usually the D or G. It would be odd for it to be all the strings. Sometimes the nut is cut fine grossly but there may be a rough edge, burr, or some debris that is causing problems. Sometimes just touching it up with a file is all you need to do but that requires some care and knowledge because you can easily make it worse. Close inspection, cleaning and lubing the slots is a good place to start. Try some dental floss or if you have a really tiny brush (like the ones that come with Nut Sauce) you can try that. I wouldn't use any kind of abrasive cord because you can easily round off your take off point. If in doubt go to a tech. The good news is that it sounds like it should be easily fixable.
  2. In New York they declared liquor stores essential. I don't know why that would require a declaration. Seems obvious.
  3. Yikes! My Custom is a mere 9.8! Sounds like you like 'er though.
  4. That's a nice looking SG. I like the look of a Bigsby. I only have one guitar with one though. I don't use it that much, but as you say when you need, you need it. I've never liked the Vibramate, but I've only tried it on a LP with a B7. the carved top and the Vibramate make it sit way too high up. But on a flat top like a SG with a B5 it's probably good to go. This one has no Vibramate.
  5. LMAO. One way or the other he stands a much higher likelihood of ending up as a subject , specimen or ward than the average person.
  6. Maybe not the same way. The way they are dealing with Mr. Spring Break up there is that they are shutting down all the bars, restaurants, beaches and possibly hotels. That'll do it.
  7. You can never trust trust the Chinese Government, or any other communist government. But, I think now the info coming out of China is at least a little better than in the beginning when they were actively trying to hide it from the world. Although they did recently expel western reporters... But, if you look at the curve of cases from South Korea, it closely matches the curve from China, just on a much smaller scale.
  8. I agree with both sentiments. Here's the question. I thought Spring Break was for college students. Are those people college students?? If so, we need to increase the standard. And they want me to pay for their loans. Sheesh.
  9. Do zombies need TP? They don't seem too concerned about hygiene in general and I don't know too much about zombie physiology but they probably don't produce waste. But who knows.
  10. While I do think it's overblown, these people aren't helping.

  12. I work for a large health care system in urgent care. Front lines for this crisis. We had an outbreak at a local facility. Paradoxically, patient volumes are down. That's good news, people are getting the message and staying home. Now that testing is more available and widespread, the numbers are going to climb fast just because more people are being tested. One of the problems is that most Covid-19 infections are mild so people don't seek care or testing which is fine, but it tends to give misleading information on mortality (death rate) because we only have actual test positive cases in the denominator. When they calculate mortality for Influenza, they use complex computer models to estimate the total number of cases so you can't really compare the two rates. The actual numbers of Covid-19 infections are probably at least 10 times greater than the positive test cases. Anyway, the social and business shut downs should help stop the spread. I think that most of this is way overblown. If all sick people would just stay home that would probably be enough. In China, they are not reporting any new cases in Wuhan, that's very good news, if true.
  13. I put new pots in my 339 and fixed the nut. I've been putting this off because I really was a bit apprehensive about it. The pots had a really steep taper. So I got a set of Gibson historic pots which have a really nice taper. I didn't replace the whole harness, I just un-soldered each pot one at a time and replaced them. Way faster than redoing the whole thing from scratch. But man, getting all that stuff out and back in is a bit of a pain. I used surgical tubing. Turned out well. Also, the low E and A string nut slots were cut really low so I did the super glue technique. This guitar has a bone nut so I bought a blank and ground some up with a file, used that to fill the slots then just a drop of GluBoost superglue, refiled and done. First time I ever tried that. Went well.
  14. Trying to become a prepper once the disaster hits doesn't work. That's why they call it prepping. Anyway, this is not going to be the virus that kills us all but what it shows is that when that virus does come, "we" are not going to be ready.
  15. Yes! Thousand. Thanks for catching that.
  16. I work in a Urgent Care. We have an outbreak of Covid-19 at a local facility so some people are in a bit of a panic. The whole thing is way overblown by the media and politicians. So far (it may change) this is way less severe than H1N1 back in 2009. In the US alone, that infected 60 million people, hospitalized 250 thousand and killed 15-20 thousand. I agree that this will likely be over soon. It seems like it's already fizzling out in China. Edit: 15-20 thousand
  17. OK, well here she is at home. This one came with a perfect setup except for the p/u pole pieces. For some reason they had the ones in the middle low, and the ends high, the exact opposite of the fingerboard radius. Anyway, once I fixed that it sounds great. It feels really nice and plays fantastic. The P90s are out of phase so they hum-cancel in the middle position which is nice. One thing that is weird is that it's a gloss guitar but they put VOS hardware on it. They said they would send me new hardware if I wanted. To me, it looked more dramatic in the photos. In person it's not really that noticeable.
  18. I actually thought about asking for it to be included but not installed, but I really use the PG to anchor my hand so I just let them do their thing. Plus, that top has so much going on you almost need the PG to give your eyes a break.
  19. I agree, if I did put black knobs on they'd have to be top hats. But, I seriously doubt I'll change anything. I was just thinking about it. Of course, I have yet to see it in person. Just a few more hours though and she'll be here.
  20. I still can't believe you sold that one. I guess you've said your just not into the electrics anymore. But that was a nice guitar.
  21. Yep. I was really impressed with the quality of the Warmoth stuff.
