  3. I'll never discount the possibility about getting a Hummingbird. Currently, it's only the pickguard which deters me - and I will never change a pickguard as my feelings are doing so detracts from the original intention and design of a guitar. A bit of bling around the rosette, the neck and headstock is fine by me and I can cope with it but pickguards.......a sharp intake of breath. However, my opinion may change.
  4. I really like the sound of a Hummingbird but, strangely for me, the pickguard puts me off getting one. Normally, I don't care what a guitar looks like yet on this occasion, I don't want to pull the trigger and buy one for that very reason.
  5. Little by Little, The Rolling Stones. A double. Yippee!
  6. Lawyers, Guns and Money - Warren Zevon
  7. Walk Straight Down the Middle - Kate Bush
  8. No idea what is exactly for dinner tonight as we have been invited out. However, the hostess is of French heritage but she says it's going to be very casual. Could be scrambled eggs on toast for all I know. Will take a bottle of red vino (Coriole) but not a French one obviously (Coal to Newcastle sort of thing) plus some chocolates (expensive $$ per kg stuff variety so only a small number bought.)
  9. Depends on what my friend prepares for breakfast this morning.
  10. No idea what is for lunch. Have been invited to a luncheon by my good friend and I'll be very interested in what she is going to prepare. Knowing her it will be darn good. A group of six so it'll be fun.
  11. Cry Me a River, Ella Fitzgerald (NOT Justin Timberlake)
  12. Bleeding Heart (Blues in C Sharp), Jimi Hendrix
  13. All Night Long, Lionel Richie (I cannot believe I actually know that. I feel dirty now.)
  14. Summertime, Ella Fitzgerald & Louis Armstrong (I adore these two and lose myself in this particular tune)
  15. Sixteen Tons, not sure who did original but I'll throw in Tom Jones as one artist who sung it.
  16. Run Through the Jungle, Creedence Clearwater Revival. I do like John Fogerty's ability to belt out a song.
  17. Not Alone Any More, The Traveling Wilburys
  18. To be frank, I think trying to identify a MIRC guitar is heading up a dead-end street. My understanding is the company refurbish guitars from many manufacturers which do not consider the guitar is of adequate quality for dealer distribution. So MIRC get them relatively cheaply, bring them up to spec, renumber them to avoid the impression they are actual factory guitars. When the AUD$ v US$ was in my favour, I bought three (oops, an edit. It was actually four) MIRC units from various overseas GCs. None of the guitars had any faults and play beautifully. From my perspective, they were excellent buys and that is THE issue. The actual manufacturing history of the guitar is secondary in my view. I certainly would consider buying another if the opportunity arose.
