  1. I use to clip my snark to one of the tuning keys for a while and then remove it after it was tuned up. It's the pressure of the clip that may cause a dent in the fresh nitro if it's a little heavier in that area. However, at all costs, I have never left it clipped to the headstock on my Hummingbird. Though I have never had a problem with a snark, I guess you could get some little felt pads from a craft store. That snark is a very sensitive tuner, More so now with the upgrade of the pivot joints. When I had an electric, I just had an inline tuner hooked up.
  2. Excellent, definately turns the hands and mind back in time. I enjoyed that! Back in the acoustic world?
  3. They hang'em in Texas, ammo cost too much. New Mexico is a different state, out of their jurisdiction. Looks like that guitar was a Yamaha F335TBS. Very nice beginners guitar, they fret easy and the sound is excellent.. I bought two of them for family members 5 or so years ago. I saw them on a display neat the front door at GC a while back.
  4. Not sure about the year, however, me personally, if it has anything to do with or close to being around the Norlin (dark years), I'm saving my money, especially with a neck problem and a 3 hole cover. I would also be curious of what's inside of that bird, to include the bridge plate. I notice what appears to be, two holes in the bridge, but that may not mean anything.
  5. I'll be another on the IOU list. I follow manufacturers installation and care manuals. When I got my bird from Bozeman, the first thing I read was the maintenance and care guidelines. That's where I learned what nitro finishes were. The main concepts Gibson stressed was "Humidity", then temperature acclimating ie. finish checking etc..... Humidity in my manual stressed 40% to 60% and seemed to make a big deal of it. What Gibson did not address was the little piece of ground you're standing on with that instrument and how to get there to keep it within their guidelines. As 40 years points out, are the extremes to be paying attention to. The best for mine is in the case with 49% Humidipaks with a hygrometer in the case and maintaing my surroundings I can maintain or be aware of when it comes out of the case. I'll be remitting my dollar in crypto currency. Just tell me where to send it to.
  6. I finally bought a single one last month and I think it's great. From viewing past pictures of the handle adjustment lever failures, it appears they have redesigned or upgraded it and done away with the lever that kept breaking.
  7. I'm a 110% with Murph on Dave Ramsey! He'll teach you how to get out of debt first, then, live like no one else! Too, that will not cost him anything to google Dave Ramsey. It's for real and no scams or B.S. and he will NOT take any money from anybody regardless. If anything he gives to you! Then one day, you can buy any Gibson you want.
  8. NO! He shouldn't buy, hes broke! That guitar at this point is a toy! Another thing, why is he asking others for an opinion? He should be asking his wife!
  9. The point here is to drink the schnapzz and the guard will transform into a thing of beauty or get beautier. This particular one may require 2 applications.
  10. I think all Gibson ever used since I've been around is LR Baggs either the 1 wheel volume control (active element) and the newer 2 wheel is the VTC (Volume, Tone control active element). I think the J200s have the anthem system.
  11. Nice Buck! Anyone care to venture a guess when Buc gets another acoustic ? I'll guess within 6 months.
  12. Interesting, not sure about the finish making a difference in sound, but I do recall as a kid growing up on the coast, the high line wires (primaries and secondary) were a glossy finish(glazed) and would sing when the wind was just right. Not sure but I think the glossy is slicker than the matte (unglazed), if that has anything to do with it.
  13. Man, I can be bought ! ONLY if the Price is Right !
  14. Thanks! I guess that also means I should be cautious and not run that little amp like that withput the PA on.I'm ignorant to running things out the back because the places I've played never could afford a PA except once and I've always had bigger stuff behind me. Thx again.
  15. Question: I have a Fender acoustasonic 40 amp. I ran an XLR cable from the outlet of the fender amp to the M120 to one of 4 input channels. My bird (has LR Baggs VTC) is plugged into the Fender amp, amp is ON. The M120 PA is UNplugged from the wall outlet with all volume etc knobs off. I have sound coming out of the M120 PA's speakers (2-80watt) and I am able to control from the Fender amp. Is that normal? ๐Ÿค”
  16. ๐Ÿ‘Good luck and do not get in a hurry working on it !
  17. I do not think so. That looks like foam adheasive tape.
  18. Yes ! ๐Ÿ‘Zippo for cleaning pickguard too.
  19. One more suggestion. Make sure the pickguard is totally flat before you apply the new 3m adheasive sheet to the back of it. You may need to lay it face down and warm it up slightly until it lays flat by itself without pushing down on it.
