  1. Yes, you are correct! It's a Super Deluxe!
  2. Just picked up a very special (and rare) Epiphone Dot Limited Edition Dot. I will premise this short write-up by saying that I used to own a Gibson ES-335 and sold it. I was looking for a less expensive guitar to fill in the gap. After trying and learning about a lot of semi hollow options in my price range (from Ibanez, Washburn, Gretsch, Hamer, Hangstrong, and Eastman). This was the winner. Tone I will start with tone because I am beyond impressed that this guitar sounds SO good. Both, the neck pickup and the bridge sound really amazing. The neck is so round and jazzy when the tone is rolled down between 0-3, then it has a subtle attack that is just perfect around 4-6, and 7-9 it sounds really nice. The crispness it has at 10 blew me away - just as good or better than a 335. As far as the bridge pickup goes, it has a very powerful voice, sharp and rock and roll when you want it and beautiful harmonics for when they are needed. Action and Playability The action is low and buzz free. Plays really nice all over the neck. Has a bone nut that helps it resonate a little more than what I tried. Specifications and Modifications Alright, so this is clearly not a typical Epi Dot. These are some of the things that are different: - Wolfetone PAF/Marshallhead MKII pickups - RS wiring kit - Bumble Bee caps - CTS pots - Upgraded wiring - Flamed maple body - Block inlays - Epiphone hardshell case - The neck is slightly thicker than the typical D profile ES neck
  3. Hello,

I have two guitars to offer in trade for your ES 335

    1) 2010 Gibson Les Paul 50's tribute Honey-Burst w/p90's

    2) Fender La Cabronita Especial 80's MIJ telecaster neck, Warmoth tobacco burst body, and a TV bridge plus classic pup.

  4. That's what I was thinking. How much should I expect to pay for a 333? I have someone with one for $1,000 shipped. Is that too much? And also, did you get jazzy woody tones from your 339?
  5. Hi guys, I am new posting in the forum, so please be gentle. A little about me: I have a Gibson Les Paul Traditional Pro and a PRS CE22. Love the guitars, but I am missing a semi-hollow. I played a 335 at GC and loved the sound. In particular, I really liked the 57 Classics, the glassy, smooth, round, full sound that the guitar had was amazing. Current situation: I cannot afford a 335 and have been looking at other guitars like the Epiphone sheraton, the 137, the 339, and I just discovered the 333! Question: Is the 333 going to satisfy my craving for a semi hollow that sounds like the 335? It seems, from reading posts, that the 333 is what today is the satin 335. I understand the other small differences (back plate, inlays, binding, pups), but I am looking at TONE - I will change the pups to 57 Classics. Also, many of the semi hollow guitars that I see online have Seymour Duncan pups installed. I have never played them before and would be happy to hear opinions.
  6. I have never seen this guitar... is this a custom? Seems like a "jumbo" les paul... http://www.youtube.com/w...h?v=miwVSqBaFec&NR=1

  8. Thanks for the replies... I went to try one out right after landing today. I liked it, also liked the single coil option. I did notice the treble PUPS were sparklier than the ones in my studio, but I think I need to take my Studio Plus and compare...
  9. retrosurfer1959 - can you tell me more about the 57 classics? and how you compare it to others... also, what about the BB do you like? nice guitar by the way... I want the ebony one =)
  10. Are Nine - yeah, I know, that´s what I usually do, but I am out of the country fro the holidays... hence the questions.
  11. Someone said the the 57s were a bit muddy? What do you think?
  12. Hi guys, I am looking into a Les Paul traditional pro (the one with the split coils burstbuckers 3 and Classic 57). Can you guys give me your thoughts on it? I'm thinking of getting the ebony. How do they compare with the 490 PUPs on the Studio? Do the split coils compromise the integrity on the PUPs? What do you think of the new neck and tuners? Thanks!!
  13. Do you think it's bad? For some odd reason my Strat and Taylor stay ini tune a little bit better than this one... not sure if this has to do with it or it is the tuners...?
  14. Thanks guys! Really helpful stuff, especially about the saddle and bridge. I just got back from my guitar tech and he said it should be fine as long as the intonation was set properly. Should I try to adjust the neck before taking it to the guitar tech? Or is it recommended that an expert does it? I love my guitar!
  15. Hey Guys, I wanted to share some pics with you of my new Les Paul. I Love the sound but I have some questions about what has been done to this guitar... Here are my doubts: 1) Seems like the frets have been replaced? What do you think? Is that bad? 2) The bridge pickup seems to be slanted... how do I fix that? 3) I have some buzz at the 7th fret... is that normal? I can barely hear it when plugged. 4) The hardware seems faded... is it worth replacing on a 4 year old guitar? Pics:
