  1. Hello to all the Forumites that I used to converse with! It's been awhile since my last post. I see some old usernames and plenty of new ones. Hope everyones Gibbys are sounding better than ever! I'm still playing regularly, hope ya'll's fingers are sore from jamming!!!
  2. Thanks guys! I've really found this really cool sound from my Gibby. I've always loved to try different gadgets, but I've run my Gibby into a Phase 90 pedal I had from the '70's. Wow!!!! Not too much effect, just enough to hear it on the strings. Cool stuff! Works well with America songs and James Taylor stuff. Been working on a few old songs by Firefall. Gigging all I can. The older my guitars get, the better they sound. I just LOVE new strings!!
  3. Been busy as of late! I've been playing a lot of gigs and just enjoying life. Sometimes it's good to get away from all the computers and electronic devices and just live in the real world for a while! It really gives you a great perspective on yourself and inspires your musical creativity. So with that, Hey all! What's up!
  4. I can't say enough about the Marshall AS-50D either. However, I purchased a Fender '65 Deluxe Reverb ReIssue last year to play my electric through. A 22 watt amp with delicious reverb! At one gig, I plugged my SJ into it for a song and was blown away by the sound. The amp did not "color" my guitar's tone at all. Just pure acoustic sound! This works very well for me, since I play acoustic and electric on some gigs. On the purely acoustic gigs, I bring the Marshall. Two great amps, just pick the one that serves your sound best!!!
  5. Anyone ever heard of this one? http://www.musiciansfriend.com/guitars/gibson-l-20-parlor-custom-acoustic-electric-guitar
  6. As there are many here, myself included, if you had to narrow down to just ONE acoustic and ONE electric, which guitars would remain in the stable?
  7. Leave now and go straight to the liquor store and get completely wiped out. Feel sorry for yourself and then proceed to kick yourself in the a$$ for letting this happen. I'm sure your guitar had a little help "falling" off the stand! Maybe now might be a great time to purchase that new Gibby you've always wanted! Next time, after playing, PUT IT IN THE CASE!!!!! BTW, sorry for your loss!
  8. I know!!! And yes, I agree 100% with you!!! Great job Sal! A wonderful cover. As said earlier, that Tele just brings it. Great vibe that just rolls and rolls! Outstanding!
  9. I forgot to mention that my lyric sheets are poster boards with 4" letters!!!!!
  10. Played one today, OMG!!!!! Let me think, what can I sell or trade........
  11. That stupid quiz says I'm a TAYLOR 814!!!! Go ahead and shoot me now and put me out of my misery! Damn, I'm gonna have bad dreams tonight!
  12. I do use a lyric sheet. Most of the songs I have memorized, but I do have the words down there in front of me for a quick peek if needed. Usually, I'll lay the lyric sheet on the floor so the audience really doesn't see it. Mostly used on the new songs that I've learned. There's no shame in it! The older I get, the more more sheets are on the floor!!!
