  1. Pity no Beatles or Zappa allowed. In that case: The Doors La Woman The Who Quadrophenia Soundtrack The Monkees Pisces, Aquarius, Capricorn & Jones LTD.
  2. I didn't look through the whole thing. Is there a Sears poncho in the lot? I like Yoko's music when she actually sings, not screeching like a wounded coyote.
  3. Went from "Happy" to "Angry" as they aged. Sounds a lot like me.
  4. Watched Carny last night for the first time. I'm not a fan of Gary Busey so I never bothered with the film before, but wanted to see Robbie's acting. I enjoyed the movie, even Gary's part. Playing a clown suits him. In the end credits I noticed Robbie Robertson wrote the carnival music. Talented man, R.I.P. Robbie.
  5. You can just cut the wires at the pickups and splice in the new ones if you'd like. If it were me I'd probably unsolder the old ones from the pots and solder in the new ones at the same points for a cleaner look. The Lollar pickups do use 2 wires, an outside braid and center conductor, kind of like a coax cable. Here's an explanation and diagram from Humbucker Soup: https://humbuckersoup.com/lollar-pickup-installation-guide/ Scroll down to the Vintage P90 Wiring section on the page for an explanation and diagram.
  6. The only thing I've done to my 2002 Casino was replace the switch. The factory switch didn't last long at all. I made the mistake of buying an official Gibson switch, which didn't come with the recessed nut for mounting. The Gibson switch uses SAE threads and the Epiphone uses Metric so the Epi nut didn't work with the Gibson switch. Had to spend a few extra bucks to get the correct nut. In hindsight I should have bought a Switchcraft. They come with the recessed nut and are good quality switches. Still have the factory pickups and pots and have been happy with them. Oh, and the E fell off the pickguard pretty early on so I just removed the pickguard to semi-Lennonize it (mine's a natural finish). Guitar mods make fun projects; I hope you do well with yours.
  7. I guess I shouldn't try to pass this bill at that store.
  8. Just an old drip coffee pot similar to this one that I bought at Kmart in 1986.
  9. Sorry, just saw this. Somebody posted it on Usenet.

    Books

Just finishing British actor David Jason's 4th book, "The Twelve Dels of Christmas". As a fan of Open All Hours and Only Fools and Horses I've enjoyed reading all 4 of Sir David's books. He has a flair for writing a story in an entertaining way. My sister gave me, "The Beatles Lyrics" by Hunter Davies for my birthday and I'll dig into that next, when I'm finished reading Del Boy's book.
  11. Not strictly a rock doc but last week I saw "EMI the Inside Story" about the giant record company. Throughout the 50s through the 70s they were a behemoth in not just the recording industry but all the electronics industry in the UK. Pretty good documentary, well worth watching.
  12. Or the evil Solenoid Robots from Roger Ramjet
  13. We had this on a 78rpm record when I was a kid. I never related it specifically to Christianity.
  14. The single and album versions of Zappa's I Don't Wanna Get Drafted (aka Drafted Again). This one's obvious, Revolution and Revolution 1.
  15. When I went to check out at the local hardware store recently the first thing the cashier said to me was, "You're eligible for the senior discount". Didn't realize I looked THAT old.
  16. Don't eat hot dogs much, but when I do they have to be in natural casings unless they're Texas Hots like the kind you get in Buffalo. When I lived there we'd call them barf dogs, but they're so good.
  17. I haven't bought ice cream since it was downsized to 1.75 quart, now it's down to 1.5. Costco's is still 1/2 gallon but you have to buy 2. Don't have room in the freezer for that so I go without. How low will things go? Just shrink everything down to 1oz and be done with it.
  18. Only Fools and Horses, which Rabs has already mentioned, is my favorite of all. Others I have enjoyed that haven't been mentioned yet are On the Busses, Only When I Laugh, Open All Hours (and Still Open All Hours), Hugh and I and Home to Roost. I'm currently watching Goodnight Sweetheart which is a science fiction comedy about a man who can time travel between the 1940s and modern day (1990s). It's been pretty good so far. Just finished watching the series Big School which only lasted 2 seasons. I think it aired in 2016.
  19. I have a 325 because you-know-who played one on The Ed Sullivan Show. A little cramped to play because of its scale length.
  20. I bought way too much Zappa last year. 1970, the last US show, Buffalo, the 2 box sets with the stupid Halloween masks, the documentary which I haven't watched yet. Fillmore East is on my radar as well. I've got More of the Monkees on pre-order too (a fool and his money, I guess). Paid $6/gallon last week; my Harley needs premium.
  21. From The Three Stooges at the Circus: Larry "Hey Moe, what are you reading?" Moe "Paganini" Larry "Paganini? Wait a minute, let me see that. That's page nine."
  22. My 2015 ES 339 Studio. It sits out next to the computer desk so I can grab it whenever the mood strikes.
  23. Just guessing but maybe that just the difference between the aluminum and chrome finish versions. I have an older B7 Nickel that has the pained patent numbers.
  24. They lure you into the store so they can post your hidden camera picture on People of Walmart.
