  1. John Prine in Columbus during his last tour...two years ago?
  2. There was a tradesman, a painter named Jack, who was very interestedin making a dollar where he could. So he often would thin down his paint to make it go a wee bit further. As it happened, he got away with this for some time.Eventually, the local church decided to do a big restoration project.Jack put in a painting bid and, because his price was so competitive,he got the job. And so he started, erecting the trestles and puttingup the planks, and buying the paint and thinning it down withturpentine.Jack was up on the scaffolding, painting away, the job nearly done, when suddenly there was a horrendous clap of thunder. The sky openedand the rain poured down, washing the thin paint from all over thechurch and knocking Jack off the scaffold to land on the lawn. Jackwas no fool.He knew this was a judgment from the Almighty, so he fell on his kneesand cried, "Oh, God! Forgive me! What should I do?"And from the thunder, a mighty Voice spoke, "Repaint! Repaint! Andthin no more!"
  3. Man, Jinder, what a roller coaster of emptions ...I'll be praying over all that, bro...
  4. I read an article on it the other day. They're going to offer a slew of packages: mulit-vinyl, multi-cds, multi vinyl and cds with corresponding prices. I always really like that album. There has always been talk that it was an incomplete collection and he wanted to put out a larger package all along...
  5. These kind of threads restore my faith in humanity...all the advice you've been given is stellar..."Upgrading" to a "Real deal" SJ200 seems the logical move...I'm sure he'll be over the moon whatever you decide...
  6. That's priceless...can't imagine a better send-off...God bless you guys for doing that...
  7. Keeping prayers and good thoughts for Bogart, brother...

I might have a line on one... what's the general consensus here? Anybody have/had one?
  9. I can't believe it got to me to mention, on a Gibson forum no less, the man who is singularly responsible for more sales of B45 12 strings than anyone, Gordon Lightfoot! Happy Canada day, ya hosers!
  10. First off, welcome to the forum! To soften the blow a little (although ksdaddy isn't wrong), any guitar you want to protect needs a hard shell case. Especially one like that. It's worth the investment...
  11. I just now got on my home PC and saw the picture for the first time (the computers at work block a lot of content)...wow...just...wow...
  12. So, Jinder, what soundhole pickup do you use? I've been tempted to get an old-school Dean Markley and see what I thought...
  13. Hey! I gots one a dose... I think mine's a '91...tobacco burst, you say? I can't keep track of them all...
  14. Congratulations buddy...I was sweating for a second afraid you'd let go of that B45...
  15. James Taylor and Jackson Browne were scheduled to come to town this summer...sigh... I'd love to see Stevie Wonder...
  16. Okay, I cracked...just got back from picking it up...to quote Hoyt Axton, "I know it's wrong, but I'm weak"...
  17. That's the one. I didn't get it. I'm working midnight shift and every extra shift I can to get out of debt. I pulled in GC's parking lot and guilt/responsibility took over and I left. Mr. Woof, I still have the B45 if you're ever interested... my hands are just too small to do it justice...
  18. You had me at strawberry shortcake...
  19. I'm pulling the trigger on a new Hummingbird (Limited Edition)12 string our local GC has marked down to $1800 (normally $2600)...I "window shop" their website about once a week and been looking at it for some time now...when I called them they said that one had actually sold earlier in the day, but they had a new one just hung out they'd let me have for the same price... So, J, I know you've got one...tell me to stop fretting (no pun intended), okay?
  20. Pete Townshend "percussed" a wide range of makes/models...
  21. Fiona Whelan PrineFollow 15 mins This is John’s 8th day in ICU . He is receiving excellent medical care and being treated with kindness and compassion by the entire team looking after him day and night. I cannot be with him which makes this nightmare all the more distressing for me. As you know, John was put on a ventilator last Saturday. He still needs quite a bit of help with his breathing. Like many patients currently in ICU beds all around the world, John has pneumonia in both lungs. He has also developed some peripheral issues that are being treated with meds, including antibiotics. He is very ill and yet I remain hopeful that he can continue to fight this devastating virus and come home where we can care for him. I don’t have the words to adequately Thank You all for the outpouring of love and prayers that John and our family has received this last week. It means the world to us to have your love and support at this difficult time. On behalf of me and our boys- Jody Jack and Tommy - please know that we are keeping you all in our hearts with a prayer that you stay safe and healthy. Please continue to send Love, Prayers and Positive Energy to John. He needs us now more than ever. John loves you and I love you too.🙏🏼❤️💚 The latest from John's wife...
  22. I've seen posts in a couple forums saying he's "fair"...can someone post a link? 'cause the last I saw Fiona post he's stable (thankfully) but no mention of an upgrade..."Stable" means they've "leveled off"...far as I can tell he's still critical, still intubated (a new term to me), and holding steady...
  23. Last word from Fiona (JP's wife) is he's stable but still in critical condition...
  24. Divorced first time (after seven years), widowed second time (after eleven)...just celebrated nineteen years w/my wife now yesterday...she hasn't figured out a different way out yet...
