  1. If it sounds as good as it looks it'd be hard not to take it home...There's a HB 12 at my local GC. I won't tempt myself to go try it on...you can get B45's fairly reasonably I've had one for years and don't think I could part w/it...
  2. Saw him a couple times back in the '80s and twice on his current tour. Can't think of him w/out thinking of Steve Goodman...JP's the absolute best, in my book...I hope his latest album isn't his last, but if it is it's a perfect bookend to a stellar body of work...see him if you can and if you've never heard his work, get on it!!!
  3. Great find there, bud...sorry for your loss, but what a perfect way to honor his memory...here's to many years playing that thing...
  4. Not for nothin', but that's kinda redundant, ain't it?
  5. Well, Brad, you now have one (more) friend for life...long as you keep that Dove... Welcome to the neighborhood...lots of knowledgeable, friendly cats here...make y'self to home and all that!
  6. "The cheaper the grapes the sweeter the wine"...great first choice...I've got three "primo" 12-strings but recently was tempted by an Ibanez that was $300... it's made for electric players who like a smaller neck and is a real player, imho... Enjoy that thing!
  7. how long ago was it you premiered the original version?
  8. I believe I'd go for it; all the terms and conditions are right and it'll be a new experience for you...what's the worst that could happen? Life and guitar wheelin'-dealin' will go on...
  9. I remember in the comic strip "Doonesbury" Jimmy Thudpucker was interviewing Dylan and asked him about some lyrics (seems like he quoted from "It's Alright Ma")...Dylan replied, "Man, I was just trying to make them rhyme." and Thudpucker thought, "Now he tells us"...
  10. "...while I may never be able to document the existence of this guitar other than the fact I am holding it, everything lines up..." Definitive 'woof...that thing's a honey for the money..congratulations!!!
  11. I'm sure you'll do fine...just have fun w/it...confidence is high... And, be sure to close w/Freebird...or Stairway To Heaven...
  12. I've never seen anything like that...but I like it! 'woof, I could've used you yesterday...went to a local shop , the one Id been dealing with that is now under new ownership. They've got an old Harmony Sovereign in pretty bad shape, and I'd love you to give it a once-over. They're not sure how old it is yet (but don't worry; even if you say, "If you don't want it, buy it and I'll buy it from you", that's NOT happening again!)...on an unrelated note, they've got an old Kay banjo w/a gorgeous carving of an eagle on the back...never had an interest in the banjo, but that thing was beautiful...
  13. Congratulation! It's rare indeed when you get a "do-over"... And you still have the Martin, yes?
  14. You just never know what you'll learn here...thanks, 'woof!
  15. I can only echo what everyone else has posted...I always look forward to your posts...hope you return soon Vaya con Dios!
  16. Those cases look like updated Martin "Steal Me"'s...
  17. Not for nothin', but that wasn't Guido Sarducci. It was Dominican ballplayer Chico Escuela (portrayed by Garrett Morris)...
  18. So long as my birth year is still on the list I'm okay w/it...
  19. I had no idea he was that old...a true loss...
  20. Ohio's State Tax form has a line to declare how much you spent in online purchases that year...good thing I never buy anything off the internet...(Shhhhh.....)...
  21. When I saw the topic of this thread I thought you'd re-posted a photo of zombywoof-n-me...
  22. Agreed...Nick Lowe was in Rockpile too, right?
  23. The only thing I've ever used is Gibson polish, but y'all got me thinking I should every string change or so...
