  1. Loud and useless volume control is one thing. Good amp is different.

I know you’re an expert of electronics. I really would love for you to build a nice amp from scratch and I would make and ship you a really nice cabinet for free if you want to do that

  2. Those amps had a disgusting op amp driven reverb and distortion. The horror. But they actually do sound like **** and they have the worst volume control of all time. People say they take pedals well… They’re harsh and sharp with the hot rods and tiny and boxy with the blues jrs. Don’t care what anyone says

  3. I know those are all lauded on the internet but I pretty much hate em except the Mesa coincidentally. I only have guitar center experience on that one though.

the blues jr and hot rods are both fakers and you can just see it on the schematics honestly but in practice I dislike them

I got fed up with electric’s. Maybe not fed up. But I got tired of plugging into an amp and then fiddling for half an hour to try to get some kind of a tone that I liked. I said screwing it, and said I’ll play acoustics. All I have to do is take it out of the case, and tune it. Whenever I go over to my friends house and strap on one of his electric guitars, I plug in for about five minutes, and I’m bored with it. And then I want to play his Martin 000-15 cause I don’t have one.

I miss playing electric guitars as much as I miss seeing Taylor Swift live - not at all.

That’s kinda sad because I feel like with a better amp you could have more fun. Blues Jrs and Hot Rods suck no matter what the internet says…

  5. Are you playing only acoustic by intention or by circumstance? I’ve been pretty much acoustic only for the past 4 or 5 years by circumstance

really love electric though and wanna get more back into it

  6. Welcome!

I gotta admit I laughed when you mentioned changing the strings as a modification lol

There is definitely no bone on your guitar, bleached or not

If you hate the sound of the Fishman you should expect to hate the LR Baggs as well. There is no real sounding transducer based option. They all sound like a cheesy transducer. There is only one way to electronically amplify an acoustic guitar properly and that is with a microphone. A built in mic is inherently in the wrong position and dampening the top of the guitar etc.

Try a decent condenser mic pointed approximately at the neck joint

    This thread was Dub-T-123's idea.

Tell us about your guitar pedals/pedal collection!

Don’t leave us hangin!! I heard someone said “Biphase”?!

I have a Mutron Phasor II which is almost 1/2 of a Biphase. A fine gentleman from this forum sold me a box of broken pedals for $20 and I fixed the mutron and harvested parts from the others (broken DOD pedals with nice bbd chips)

Here’s a super old photo I dug out of Imgur

    I stand corrected - thanks!

When that came out I was pretty deeply embroiled in pedal geekery. It was one of those things where people had preordered the pedal way before it came out and the response was overwhelming.

Every weeb and pedal geek wanted one, and lots of people ordered more than one. I can just imagine Dweezil ripping it up with one of those… must have been fun

I gotta ask and maybe we should start another thread or something but if you have over 200 pedals I’d really like to see some of the highlights of your collection. I have a bunch of stuff myself. My personal pièce de résistance has to be my germanium Fuzzrite

  9. The only Taylor swift song I can name was her breakout hit “Teardrops on my Guitar”

That was sorta right before MTV stopped doing music, so I initially saw it from her music video on MTV

I think she is very attractive and talented and she’s very good at catering to her massive audience of which I am not part of

  10. Gibson maybe occasionally uses bone nuts on made 2 measure guitars or something where the customer specs that but it’s not a normal thing to come on any production model. In this case unless the guitar has been modified it’d be reasonable to just assume it’s not a bone nut
