    Plugins

I have an elaborate sound system that I like to take advantage of (I gotta lug it, after all). One thing I've found that helps in certain rooms is a Plug called "Maxbass" from Waves. There are many ways to add bass to your system but this is the most effective and tasteful I've found (assuming your speaker system can handle it). As I am running a Yamaha Analog console, I have to add Plugins at Deckadance so I only have ONE Plugin slot available PER instance. When I switch to another "deck", I have to load the Plugin as well. Waves has a free Plug that allows you MORE than one Plugin instance and that has helped. What I need is a way to add "master" Plugins that will appear on ALL outputs (Like Maxbass) and I would like buss Plugins to add Verb or special effects SEPARATELY for each deck. Plug Ins are incredibly handy. Why carry hardware that you can instead "plugin"?
  2. Greets. I have played Bass professionally for 40+ years. I've worked with some greats during that time (Bob Seger, Ted Nugent, etc.) One thing that live music has over canned is the excitement generated by live input. I've added live playing to my DJ show (DJ Sundog). I have guests come up and we play along with tunes. Seems simple, but it's not. Done right, the crowd goes nuts. I wonder if OTHER DJ's are doing this or have tried it? I'd like to converse. DJ Sundog
  3. More and more, I think the addition of live to canned is the key, at least for me. I had a drummmer come in last week (with his electronic drums) and the crowd went wild as he and I played along with the hits. The dynamic of live players can not be simulated or overstated. It gets EVERYBODY moving - not just the canned fans. This week, a great guitar player I worked with is coming in. We're doing a whole set of ZZ Top and Bad Company. Should be a ball and the people are lining up! I've come to believe in my new approach Luis. It's working and I have TWICE the fun, myself. I am a sort of Karaokee musician in this case. I am going to expand on this and offer guest spots to nearby players. Mixed with DJinng of favorite tunes, you get it all. Like seeing a DJ, a live band and I also do comedy pieces. My phone is ringing! IF you can add the auto-tune functionality, I would double love it!! I added a PDF screen shot of Sony's Pitch Plug. This is how I'm doing it now but it's a ton of work. Again, thank you for looking into this! Have a great one. TomPitch Thing.pdf
  4. Deckadance now can tell you what key a song is in. Wouldn't it be great if DD could re-tune songs to a specific pitch as they play? All tunes in A - suddenly, they are all perfectly A440! Really a feature I'd like (and need).
  5. This is pretty cool Forum software, BTW. While what Deckadance can do analyzing key and such is cool, that is just not what I need. Let's say I am out playing a song in the key of "A". I am in tune and all is well. THEN somebody wants a tune bad enough to load my tip jar. Turns out it too is in "A" except that it's NOT A440, it's just close. I can 1) Stall and re-tune my bass during a song playing and tell my customer to wait OR 2) I could just go ahead and play IF all the songs in my repertoire were tuned perfectly (this would take forever using Sound Forge even with Batch Mode) OR 3) I could rely on your software to handle this detail for me in real time OR 4) Perhaps there's a plug-in that can do what I need. Whew, lot's of possibilities. Ideally I could just grab my bass or guitar and wail as I have plenty to do DJing. Does this make sense? Even if you offered a feature to "Normalize" pitch in DD on songs offline? A utility that can tune a batch of songs to one central pitch)? Just a thought but a REAL cool idea to add to this is real time tune, in that say a super great piano player comes up to play (this happened). Naturally, NONE of my tracks were in tune with that piano. Makes things very tough indeed. BUT, what if he steps up and I activate a Microphone and he hit's a middle "C"? Then DD could make sure that ALL songs in the bag would be in tune to that piano. Anyway, thanks. Really appreciate what you do.
  6. Hello. I read some place that the new Deckadance upgrade has a “pitch” or tuning mechanism of some sort? Here's what I need: I run a rather unique show. I have played Bass Guitar professionally for 45 years. I am an in demand bass player and a passable guitar player. Often, I strap on an instrument, step out front and I jam along with whatever tune I'm DJing. This has turned out to be remarkably popular. My issue is tuning. IF I pre-plan carefully, I KNOW exactly what songs I will accompany. To “tune” the music to a standard pitch, I am currently massaging each selection with Sound Forge to get them all in tune with each other. This is a major pain and does not allow me to easily take requests as I may NOT be properly in tune with the request. IS there something Deckadance 2.73 can do to help me with this? Ideally I could pull up a tune and it would somehow auto-tune before playing? In this way, requests become simple matters. A software switch to allow auto-tune would be 100% welcome to see in an update OR perhaps the software can already do what I need? Thanks, DJ Sundog I am a retired Network Engineer. Years ago, I used to run the very hip "Major Music Show". I am getting back into it and am having a great time doing so. I have gotten into Video production, have ditched my entire older 16) 250 Watt Quartz bulb lighting setup & Dry Ice foggers with DMX and LEDs, have added plug-ins where I used to tote hardware - today's show is MUCH better than before when I used Otari reel to reels. More everything, less weight! My show is on 3 computers. I carry my own WI/FI and use phones to remotely control things. I just wanted to mention this stuff as DJing was too cool. Now it's beyond that. Enjoy doing your shows as you deserve to.

  8. I am a professional musician switched to funky DJ. I often play live with my shows. I NEED to be able to choose a tune and to have it "auto tune" to a pitch so that I can do requests. ANY ides out there amongst you Deckadents?
