  1. Purchased from Sweetwater. Love the sounds. The fret ends are brutal. I've had to do some work with a very fine file after I scratched up the base of my index finger on my fretting hand. Plays great, it's my first Floyd Rose-equiped guitar and the stuff I'd seen about them being difficult to set up and tune, are way overblown. Had new strings, was set-up and in-tune out of the box, but I tune to Eb, so I had some adjsutments to make immediately. Took maybe ten minutes, the only tools I needed besides the included allen wrenches was a Philips head screwdriver. I wanted a guitar for 80's rock/metal sounds, and this is it. The neck is a D-shape with a nice wide profile, lots of room on the fretboard. I've yet to find amp settings for the neck or middle pickups, but the bridge gives me the sounds I'm looking for. Easy pinch harmonics, sweeps, arpeggios. I can do all the same techniques on all my other guitars, they're just easier on this guitar.

    How much you asking for?

  6. Indian Reservation - Paul Revere and the Raiders....yeah.
  7. Overdrive is what happens when you are working the pre-amp section of your amp hard, and results in a warm bluesy classic rock kinda tone. Distortion is when you drive both the pre and power amp sections ahrd, which results in even more clipping of the signal, so you get more of hard rock/metal sound
  8. Jack White. Rolling Stone Mag's 17th Greatest Guitarist of All Time. If he's 17th, I'm in the Top 20.
  9. I'm also looking forward to this amp, but I have a question: It seems to have more tubes than other 15W combo amps. The Valve Sr has 4 preamp 12AX7s and 2 power amp 6V6s, while a Fender Super Champ has 2 and 1 of each, respectively. What effect will more (TWICE!) pre and power-amp tubes have on sound?
  10. If a barely literate fellow (like myself) were to accidentally plug the speaker jack into the wrong output would that kill the amp?
  11. Pardon my ignorance: what's a PT? Also, I don't think it's the jack because when the amp is on I get nothing...not even a buzz.
  12. My Valve Jr Combo (v3) will power up, but no sound comes out. I mean, the on/off switch lights up when you turn it on, but you get no sound. I changed the pre-amp tube, but I suspect that I may have to change the power tube. Or something. I really don't know. Any advise will be apppreciated.
  13. I'm looking to clean up my tone and hopefully add a little more clean headroom. Does anyone have any recommendations on a good 12AX7 tube to accomplish these?
  14. I'm trying to get the back plate off the amp. I removed all the screws but the sucker won't budge and I really don't want to break anything. Are there other screws inadditon to the ones on the back panel itself. And once I get the panel off, the swapping tubes seems realtively straight-foward. Is there anything I need to be aware of?
