That's how us Capitalist Americans roll.

Gotta be first to get the Taylor Swift action figure with Microphone, Football Player Boyfriend and Sparkly Pink Guitar as accessories.

Hey.....where have you seen this 😁

Yes. I think Ceptorman's right. Habitual phrases that have become redundant by overuse.

In the north of England is a phrase to precede a statement; " As it happens..." eg: As it happens the delivery never turned up.

It should mean "it transpires that..." but again overuse has made it superfluous.

Have not heard it for a while, but the one that used to bug me was the appendage "... do you know what I mean?" or "... do you know what I'm saying?". It usually got shortened to "d'gnome sane?".

Quite a few phrases that bug me.....LIKE.....and TO BE COMPLETELY HONEST WITH YOU. I hate that one.

  3. We created our current mess ourselves. The average American worker is 50 lbs overweight, has a bad attitude, thinks the company owes him something. He makes $20 an hour, but cost his company $30 an hour. It's pretty sad that the company can ship their stuff across the globe and back, and still save a bunch.

I'm Italian, I never used that phrase and that's for sure.

Is Italian or English your first language? Fluent in both? I've noticed this from Italians that are forced to learn English. It's in an interview session for Italians in world class  racing where the interviews are in English. French, German, and Spaniards do not use this term, but practically all of the Italian racers did.

You guys have much better amps and equipment than me. But then I just play for self entertainment.  Now CHESS. There's my favorite hobby.  Mom told me I had an uncle that taught me to play at 2 years old or tried to. I just remember playing it as long as I can remember. I get frustrated if I lose. To date, I beat 3 expert players and one candidate Master. No one will play me. So I have to play Kasparov  computers.

Now that's impressive. I'll take you on in checkers😄

Lol. Dead men? I can't even post a photo here. I tried countless times.  I tried many peoples suggestions.  But you may be right. Doctors have told me I should have died 8 times now. So maybe I am better than you? Haha.

This forum is harder than most to insert a photo.
