Gibson vs Epiphone Billie Joe Armstrong LPJ deep dive
Ceptorman replied to Company Grip's topic in Gibson USA
It's amazing that a guitar that cost 1/4 the price can be as good or better than the expensive one. -
Anyone Want Zappa's Studio Gear And Other Useless Stuff?
Ceptorman replied to Sgt. Pepper's topic in The Gibson Lounge
Frank died in 1993, I thought he was a younger man when he died. Who ended up with all his music gear? His guitars would be worth some good money. I hate hearing these stories about siblings fighting over money their parents estates. It sounds like Gail didn't do the right thing either. Frank and Dweezil were close correct? -
Got a pic? We love pics?

Buckingham is exceptional, and underrated. I think there are many that don't get enough recognition.....Alex Lifeson, Brian May, Neal Schon. The 70s rock scene produced a lot of great guitarist. Buckingham did it all, wrote, sang, engineered, and I like his playing style. He never overplayed, just his portion of what the band needed. I was never a huge fan of Fleetwood Mac back then, but I am now. I think Christine McVie was the glue that held that band together.

I have to say Jimmy Page all day long. I would put Jeff Beck in front of Hendrix. I was watching that Kennedy Center honors Led Zeppelin segment yesterday, and watching what Page was doing is astonishing. I saw Jeff Beck in concert 4 years ago, and his "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" rendition had the crowd speechless. He had blood dripping down his clothes by the end of the night. He still gives it his all. I have another opinion that won't be popular....I think Clapton is overrated! He was the 3rd best guitarist from the Yardbirds!

Who is this gray haired guy in the mirror? Is that my Dad?

Welcome Bubba. Lots of knowledge around here. I'm sure you can find the answers to any questions. Post a photo of the SG if you can. Good luck bringing it back.

It's a shame his legacy, and fortune getting squandered away. -

He produced Dweezil and Moon. I believe a lot of their current problems was because his estate wasn't managed well. He passed a long time ago, and probably thought he had plenty of time. Aren't the kids fighting among themselves? Two against two? -

Just think...if he would've made music worth listening to, he would have more money 😄 -
For You If Money Is No Object (Or If Your A Doctor Or Lawyer)

And I hear he doesn't buy a lot of painkillers anymore! He does tour with his band. He has assembled a few fine musicians....Kenny Wayne Sheppard, Mike Wanchic, Tom Bukovac, Kenny Aronoff. -
Everyone has issues.

Do The Beatles still hold up to modern music?

Especially if she's wearing them😁 -
I agree about the clown part, but I think you left out he bitter part.

Don't worry Slash, he turns on all the new guys. Probably why there aren't any.

You need to release the pressure from that vice that you put your b*lls in!

Haha....that's a good one😄

How about a guitar skills competition? Fastest pentatonic scale😁

I know 😄The days of doing it for the satisfaction or pride is over. Everybody is greedy nowadays.

So the body is so snug that it does't let the neck move? I guess it's ok to use as a storage case, but I'm not so sure I would take it anywhere, I would worry, especially with a high dollar guitar like a Gibson. Can you return it?

No offense taken. I know what you mean. I like fresh clean new things also. But I can appreciate that distressed look in some items. Distressed floors in a home, that old barn siding in your basement that looks 200 years old, it can have a spectacular look. I'm with you on the chipped up guitars though, and I don't like old beat up furniture either. I hate it when my car gets scratched. On a guitar, I like the worn look better than the beat up distressed look. Like Willy Nelson's old acoustic, it's worn all the way through. Now if Martin tried to copy that, I think it would seem cheesy, they're just doing it for the money.

Some guitars take years to get that patina, those instantly have that look!
