  1. It's a welcome place to check in, some good people here!
  2. Would love the opportunity to try one. I believe it's got a 1 3/4 nut - which I've been hankerin for, but the neck profile has me concerned enough where this one would have to be played first before I would consider buying it.
  3. Had neighbors over for a socially distanced campfire last night, and movie projected on the side of the barn. They entertained me and let me play a couple songs while waiting for it to get dark... that's kind of an audience. Starting to see signs of life.
  4. Nice Lars, last one was good, this one is better! Keep at it.
  5. Fine job PB! Is this done with the new music room set up, and if so - how you liking it?
  6. If I had to pick a favorite, I'd go for the 44... subtle differences, i appreciate the comparison.
  7. It was no red 333 christmas production, but it was still very cool. Congrats jt and hope the ball keeps rolling!
  8. Just fantasizing - Thinking of shows I'd really like to see Ray Wiley Hubbard KT Tunstall Billy Strings Kenny Wayne Shephard Clapton Anybody else got a wish list for when this thing is over?
  9. KT Tunstall bangs on her guitars quite a bit, (uses a looper often) and uses a dove. If it would make you sound like her, I'd get a dove.
  10. Nice BK, out of curiosity, what was your reasoning with going with the Baggs Anthem?
  11. you tube is great for all levels. there's a few regular teachers who have plenty of free lessons out there - and they seem to have a passion for what they do (i.e. Marty jamz (something or other), Justin guitars... to name a few) My 2 cents, guitar becomes fun when you can play a song, I'd find a super simple song, find some you tube vids and go from there. but everyone's different, so do what works.
  12. I look forward to the opportunity to being able to do that evaluation over a long period of time.
  13. yeah he has.... I see some retuning of the guild this afternoon (long scale)
  14. Appreciating them more as musicians the more I learn about playing. As for my heros or yore - some are dead, not all, but a lot of the ones that are alive don't really seem like they enjoy performing. Still would like to see Clapton if I could.
  15. Thank you all, very much appreciate the input! Time to ponder birds.
  16. Hi All, I have my Guild D25 (mahogany dread) I use for open tunings, thinking of upgrading. I'm trending towards a hummingbird or CW (just because I want one and to be able to compare long term to my J45) but I didn't know if there were things I should consider if I was getting the guitar primarily for open tunings. (Which then lends me to mostly fingerpicking and some slide... all bluesy / bluesy rock issh) For a guitar being considered mostly for open tuning use, is there anything that should be considered, or just let things go where the GAS takes you? Thanks for any input, it's appreciated. Rgds - Uncle Fester
  17. Congrats Sal - very cool, that burst is awesome!
  18. Seems like BK has had success with pawn shops over in Australia, but over in the states I haven't heard much about pawn shops
  19. Corona'ing at home the best we can, campfire and outside movie projected onto the side of the barn. We'll probably still get hit with a blizzard cause that's how things go in New England, but we've had some nice days mixed in.
  20. Kramer - FWIW if you do get to try any and form any opinions would love a report back on how you make out. Very cool thread, lots of good information.
  21. I'm looking forward to opportunities to play live. I've got a list a mile long of equipment i want, but made a pact I would prove that I would use what I already have in a live setting before I buy anything new. But if I was to buy something it would be an equipment package for my acoustic set up, fishman artist amp, tonedexter pedal and edwina mic 🙂... and then a 60s fixed bridge hummingbird (from the historic collection i believe)
