  1. If I ventured a. guess it would be a 2007 Les Paul Standard Plus Top Below the similar current Standard 60's model The Les Paul™ Standard 60s models from Epiphone’s new Inspired by Gibson™ Collection recreate the sound of 1960s era Les Pauls. Featuring a classic mahogany body with a maple cap, Grover® tuners, and powered by ProBucker™ humbuckers with CTS® potentiometers. Epiphone’s long friendship with Mr. Les Paul began in 1940 when Les built one of the world’s first solid body electric guitars while working nights at the original Epiphone factory in Manhattan. Les’ first solid body guitar, nicknamed “the Log”, would go on to inspire the Les Paul Standard, which many consider the greatest electric guitar ever made.
  2. Such a drag, I feel your loss, so many of my friends didn't make it to my age, several being musicians along the way. Still have a few younger ones.
  3. The Cool Z looks like a nicely done brand, no matter how you pronounce it. I didn’t like the look of the brand on mine, so I sanded it off, signed it and added a few coats of poly.
  4. Mi “EE - bahn - yez”
  5. Does the 2 mean its a second?
  6. Cars, guitars and young women.
  7. Hmm, a Standard Classic? Something looks spooky.
  8. My 2020 339 came with a black pickguard But when I installed black humbucking sized P90's and a Les Trem II, there was too much black for me, so I left the pickguard off. and I like it better this way
  9. Well, I couldn't help myself, had to try on my favorite trem. and a roller bridge.
  10. It doesn’t seem to be very Gibson like.
  11. I think I will start using the “EE - bahn - yez” pronunciation.
  12. Actually TOH - YOH- TAH is the correct Japanese pronunciation, TOY is an American bastardization.
  13. Note that Strat pickups are single coil and will not react the same way as a humbucking with a reversed magnet and one out of phase coil. Strats with the center pickup in reversed polarity and reversed coil are setup for hum-canceling when used in conjunction with the neck or bridge pickup on 5-way switch position 2 and 4.
  14. The trick to electronic drums is to make them sound killer, once done “resistance is futile”.
  15. You would think that Ibanez being a Japanese company would have used Japanese vowels (very similar to Spanish vowels) taught to them by the English. But no they went with American English Vowels which are all messed up and have too many variations. It’s like what they did with Toyota commercials. Toyota (TOY - YOH - TUH) is actually pronounced TOH - YOH - TAH
  16. I really love the sound I get out of my Humbucking sized Mean 90's, in general I have 3 semi-hollow guitars with P90's each with such a wide range of useable tone from clean to highly overdriven using either or both pickups.
  17. First experience with V-Drums in 2000 and used the Roland V-drum monitors but also piped them into the house PA. In 2006 I had a very heavy handed drummer, I was so relieved when he got his V-Drums, he also used 2 Roland drum monitors plus went through our monstrous Mackie PA. Below is outdoors at the Hilo Bayfront. Electronic drums are totally about controlling the bands volume. ie, taking away level control from the drummer
  18. Very nice guitar, I loved my Ibanez's specially the Japan built ones.
  19. Being retired I spend lots time playing, I try to spend at least a few hours every week plying each guitar in my stable. One of my favorites is this Wilshire that has a little dive, but its so light the leather strap holds it in position quite well.
  20. Using a notched bridge when there is not a lot of string angle going over it works well but will move a little with the tremolo. With more angle like a sculpted top LP or an ES I think the roller bridge works better minimizing the amount of bridge movement or string breakage. I do like the Duesenberg trems because they don't damage the guitar, I have more guitars than trems and my trems get moved to the guitars that they work the best on.
  21. This one on Reverb has the newer long neck trunnion or joint , meaning the strap button is almost 2" farther forward which can provide better balance with much less dive than the 61 style. The SG on the left is the more modern style, the right is the very popular 61 SG neck style that is notorious for diving.
  22. I love Gibson style Stop Bar guitars, which allow me to only use the Stop Bar Studs to mount my Duesenberg Les Trem II Tremolo, with no extra screws. and they can be removed leaving no damage
  23. A Nuclear Extreme in very good condition on most sites go for about 599, a few I have seen sold for 700 or over Reverb link ..............
  24. Yep, thats very accurate. My first learning experiences were just siting around with friends mimicking each other.
