  1. Still half asleep, coffee going down ok, brain still in dreamland.
  2. I think that may be the slot the USA Casinos are intended to fill.
  3. At the Qingdao Epiphone factory when a custom shop guitar is built it just means that these Limited editions have something different about them from the standard product line. My Custom Shop Epiphone 2011 Limited Edition 61 SG Specials were described as having authentic 61 SG style hardware and configuration. Using the 3 in a row Kluson style tuners by Wilkinson, P90's wound to the 61 spec placed in the same positions as the 61 (different location than the G400), shielded wiring, full sized potentiometers and 61 style cap. wraparound bridge and the 61 style slim taper set neck. These are very different from the standard G400 SG's that had a lower value , the CS LE 61 SG Special sold for $699 about double the price of a new G400 at the time. Because there is very little data on them they mistakenly get valued like a regular G400. So what I'm trying to say is that if you find a Limited Edition Custom Shop Epiphone, they usually worth a little more the than the standard product line.
  4. I received my Epiphone Casino Coupe/E-339 Hardshell Case a few days ago, from The Music Zoo with free shipping . Its a very plush and very nice case.. Currently there is also a Casino Coupe/ES-339 EpiLIte soft case.
  5. Grabbing on to reality with a cup of coffee and powdered donuts. Thinking about Masters Of The Universe that I watched last night, the Dolph Lundgren, Frank Langella, Courteney Cox version. I know that this is something that many people have seen, but I had forgotten the detail they went to for a cartoon to feature film. It was about it was about a high school musician that finds a musical devise that creates worm holes. A scene at the high school showed a stage with some interesting rock equipment setup on it and while I was marveling at it the bad guys came in shot it all up burning a bunch of old Fenders. The main battle scene takes place in a music store that is wall to wall 87 era equipment that all gets destroyed, so sad too bad..
  6. I'm down to about 10. Heres a few of them.. Mostly Epiphones...
  7. My Epiphone 339 Hardcase arrived last night.. It seems to be a little better made than my last one from 2015...
  8. Just as I have always thought, P90 Guitars make excellent sounding Strats, nice..
  9. Product information on Zakk Wylde Signature Guitars from the Epiphone Wiki..

  11. The original question was why doesn't the Epi 339 Pro react or sound like the Gibson 339 with the switch in mid position being able to get much closer to Zero providing better control of the mix. The Gibson 339 uses better hardware, full sized volume pots which allow the control to get closer to zero before it goes off. The Epi 339 Pro uses push/pull volume pots which will suddenly go off well before one of them is gets close to zero.
  12. Played my Blueshawk yesterday, she was exceptional but showing signs of needing new strings. So today she's getting her wish, guitars with tremolos work so much better with new strings. Our multi iPad recording guy is refining his techniques and we may have something worth showing soon. My Blueshawk feels incredible with new strings, have to make sure I change them more often and not get sidetracked with my other new guitars.
  13. You can pre-order a 2021 model on Musicians Friend for 699 , expected 3/7/2021
  14. The bridge ground wire simply goes through a drilled hole in the control cavity to the hole making contact with the threaded insert for the bridge that is just pressed in, sometimes to stopbar insert. Or if a floating bridge, like on some archtops, to the tail piece mount through the strap peg..
  15. Very Kool, I hope you are ready for the flood of Gibson Tech Work that will be coming your way.. 😮
  16. They just started offering the vaccine to my age group here, so I have that to look forward to, can't wait..
  17. Pickups are very microphonically sensitive, by adding metal covers the metal mass close to the strings has been increased, possibly increasing their sensitivity. Any weak ground could possibly cause problems. Since your pots are connected to a circuitboard and grounded through it. You could check it by removing the CB with the pots and input jack, then closely inspect any loose connections on the CB. things that might help... Make sure the buzzing stops when you touch the strings, if not the ground wire going from the CB to bridge is bad. Soldering a ground wire running to the case of each of the pots and bridge ground wire could help. Add shielding to the control cavity. Most pickups will buzz a little and some more than others, depending on conditions. If you continue to have trouble you may want to take it to a good tech. LP wiring logic flow...... Pickup to Vol Pot with Tone Pot attached (Pots grounded with Bridge wire), then from Vol Pot long cable to 3-Way Switch, then long cable from 3-Way to output Jack. Typical old school LP wiring without CB..
  18. Each island has its own culture. Oahu is very modern compared to the other islands, the Big Island is very rural, but protected from the main stream events like COVID, since most everything goes through Oahu to get here. But the Big Island does have the most active Volcano..
  19. Hawaii was always a dream for me, until I actually came here and found lots of mainlanders building their dream homes. On the Big Island many people built in areas in Lava Zone 2 which was effected by the last lava flow. Quite a few B&B's in Pahoa were in the way of the last flow, which you can't always tell which way its going to go. I live in Lava Zone 3 which is less likely to be effected. Life on a volcano can interesting, but I enjoy it, being able to travel from sea level up to 13.5k feet in a short period time can be fun. I originally came for a visit and stayed.
  20. In another lifetime in the army, I carried my guitar every where I went and had to make my strings last way longer than normal... So basically I'm saying, that what ever you are doing , that works for your situation, is correct... Whenever you put on a new set, your guitar takes on a new sparkle..
  21. Very versatile reverb, would be good for studio effects. It kind of reminds me of the AM radio days riding around in my friends VW with a reverb tank and hitting a bump, then the sound would go crazy. I like "conditioning effects" in the effects loop where I usually use a light bit of chorus, delay and reverb. I noticed they didn't demo it with an OD pedal.
