  1. I don't think it is raised. I think it is just a box around it. I agree with the earlier post -- someone was just leaning too much into it.
  2. I would say 'yes' -- there is no substitute for their super strong songwriting (especially), vocals, and overall musicianship. Here is a question for you ... what would have George Harrison's career been if he never met John and Paul?
  3. Bro ... Maybe you missed the pic I posted that said "Of course, I could be wrong ". A little less caffeine for you, dude...
  4. To me, they were a one-hit wonder. I don't remember anything else.
  5. Welllllll playyyyyed (golf clap, golf clap, golf clap)
  6. Anyone remember "Lunatic Fringe" by Red Rider in the early 1980s? Great track...
  7. Yes, George Young was the elder brother to Angus and Malcom Young of AC/DC. Further, Vanda and Young produced all the AC/DC albums prior to Highway to Hell.
  8. Yeah, this is one of those "not even close" things. Any one even vaguely familiar with Gibsons would identify that as being not a real Gibson from a mile away.
  9. Deleted -- this is an acoustic discussion
  10. Link to auction: https://cagp.industrialbid.com/m/view-auctions/catalog/id/4200/?page=1&items=96 Most of these are "customer returns". Uhhhhh, as in "it does not work" or "it works just fine, but I did not like it"? Answer: Yes 18% premium on bids. Shipping is the bidder's responsibility. Example: LOT of 8 PEAVEY VALVE KING VK 100 GUITAR TUBE HEADS; starting bid: $50
  11. Let's expand that a bit (these are all just my opinions) ... "greatest of all time" is Steve Howe ... The guy can do anything, plays brilliantly, and has created a ridiculously awesome body of music. "best rock guitarist all time" is Jeff Beck (with Jimmy Page as a very tight second) -- this category is also pretty much the same as "my favorite guitarist of all time" "best hard rock guitarist of all time" is Eddie Van Halen (with Alex Lifeson and Buck Dharma sharing second place) "best metal guitarist of all time" is Randy Rhoads (with Nuno Bettencourt in second) ... RR had only those two albums with Ozzy, but that was enough
  12. Agreed -- The video says they will be marked as Gibson which is incorrect. These are basically high-end, high-quality Les Paul, Explorer, etc. copies that are licensed. They will have Gibson-shape headstocks that will say Echopark (not Gibson) on them.
  13. $2800 at GC ... "It's the perfect combination of elegance and performance. This limited edition Custom Pro features a hand-selected figured maple top, nickel hardware, and BurstBucker #2 and #3 humbuckers with coil-taps, and a phase switch on the push/pull volume knob. "
  14. My personal opinion for "greatest of all time" is Steve Howe
  15. When doing a "self relic" job, it is always good to remove the blindfold prior to picking up the belt sander. Just a special trick that others discovered previously ...
  16. It is not even a Gibson second. At best it is a Gibson sixth ... maybe even a seventh ...
  17. Beautiful guitar. I love plain tops, personally.
  18. Thanks ... Yeah, it is a crazy. We call it "Beast Mode". LOL
  19. Speaking of "a lot of car for little money" ... I just got a 2019 Dodge Challenger Widebody Scatpack with 485 hp. The Scatpack widebody has a lot of Hellcat flowdown including exclusive front end and hood, 12"-wide Pirellei P-Zeros on 20"inch Devils Rims at each corner, 6-piston Brembos , the "SRT Performance" screens for engine/suspension configuration and monitoring, and much of the Hellcat suspension -- all these items are only on Scat widebodies and Hellcats for Challengers. Oh yeah, plus you get a full-sized trunk and a usable back seat. The perfect daily driver ... MSRP fully loaded: $55K. I paid only $46K (with $1750 rebate and dealer discount). Note: They did not make many of the Scatpack widebodies, and there has been a lot of blow-back to Dodge that these widebody Scats were basically a Hellcat with only 200 fewer horsepower (that are typically unused on the street). The Hellcats use a turbo for that additional 200 hp, so the Hellcats actually weigh more and don't handle as well as the lighter widebody Scats. Besides being sometimes difficult to locate on a dealer lot, there is also talk of discontinuing the Scat widebody entirely for 2020 after only one year of production to ensure greater product differences between the Scatpack and the Hellcat lines.
  20. The most interesting thing to me was that for a band that had not played live in three or so years played so well in such bad weather conditions for an off-the-cuff- performance. Then ... finding out how the Beatles recorded ... they used a live "everyone playing together" track as the basis of their recordings, with individual layers laid upon that initial track. Hence, they were playing together most of the time -- very different from today where everyone is playing alone during the recording of the album. Anyway, the fact they sounded so good on that rooftop is testament to how much they played together, and how talented all of them were.
  21. It seems Gibson is going for more model-change stability so those end-of-the-year bargains won't be as numerous as they were when you made your purchase. Great timing for you. Well done!
  22. It seemed very fair until I saw the SG was a satin finish. Now I am not as sure. His does have a HSC, is a limited run of 400, and looks nice ... Probably okay.
  23. Yeah, that looks nice ... and I think it is your best bet. Honestly, I am not sure pearl white has looked good on anything but a black Strat. Just my opinion...
