  1. I see. I just had this particular guitar restrung. When we restring again I will try to take a look. Thank you!
  2. This is the last Gibson I have. Says 1996 in the serial decoder. Anything else special about it I should know? Thanks! Album: https://1drv.ms/f/s!Asa6oFpodAJTgY9mbKhu7CuEzPULkg Also, if anyone has any info on how to look up info on Ovation, Gretsch, Rickenbacker or a Hoffner bass please let me know. I have to figure out those next.
  3. This one is marked an ES-135, serial says from 2000. Any other info I should know about it? Thanks! Album: https://1drv.ms/f/s!Asa6oFpodAJTgY9Z7I4kxxNZPnZ_zg
  4. I only have a few more, sorry for all the posts. This one my step-father gave directly to my daughter before his passing. He told her it has a special top and is not as heavy as some others. Here is the album: https://1drv.ms/f/s!Asa6oFpodAJTgY9PxOd8U0bjDn0MMA
  5. Another guitar I am seeking information on. It's a flying v but I can't get at the pots because I'd have to take off the strings and I don't know how to do that. One is busted I know. This one looks either really old, or not well taken care of or both. The serial number is not coming up in the databases online. Thoughts? Album: https://1drv.ms/f/s!Asa6oFpodAJTgY9GF8-abG7J2_FcHw
  6. Additional guitar I am looking to identify: Album: https://1drv.ms/f/s!Asa6oFpodAJTgY84naG-QtN882-bhQ Thanks!
  7. Hi, Next guitar I am looking for information on. Album is here: https://1drv.ms/f/s!Asa6oFpodAJTgY8V_mbYBZ69f8kgkA Thank you.
  8. Hi, This is the 3rd guitar I am seeking info on. I am having the hardest time making out the pots numbers and the combinations I come up with don't input into the website that will tell you the date. Anyone able to tell me more about this guitar? Thanks! Serial is 7-1335. Missed a digit in the title. Album of photos, including best pots photos I could take, is here: https://1drv.ms/f/s!Asa6oFpodAJTgY8UWz0AEYkQ9PSw4A Looked again, I think it's 44071079
  9. Here is the pots result for this one: A40-71079A R1379626 This potentiometer was made by CTS Corporation (Chicago Telephone Supply) in the 26th week of 1996
  10. Yes LOL. I consider myself as serious a hobbyist as you can get, but I am not a professional and I used my iPhone for the photos I took. I just tossed up the lights because you can always use more light. I figured I might as well fully document the guitars I have once instead of needing to go back and do it again. I have several I need to figure out their worth eventually. Since they belonged to my stepfather (my sister's actual father, we have different dads) they belong to her legally but she stopped talking to him years ago and I had a good relationship with him. I'd like to find a way to keep these as my daughter plays guitar and also wants to keep them but I feel my sister will want to sell them as they don't mean much to her. Long story....anyway. :) I will get the codes for the other one and post there to keep the threads straight. Then I'll move on to the others. I've tried Gibson direct before, no answer to my email and tried again this AM to a man who said he'd help too. Hopefully I'll hear back from him on this new attempt!
  11. Okay, the numbers I pulled off the pots (I don't know what these are but assume I looked at the right thing) are: A40-71079A R1378940 I plugged the R number into the site you said and it returned: This potentiometer was made by CTS Corporation (Chicago Telephone Supply) in the 40th week of 1989 This means that (given this is an original part) this is the earliest possible date your guitar (speaker) was made. My photos didn't really turn out well but will add them to the album soon.
  12. This is the second guitar that I am trying to figure out the year and any other info on it. Here is a link to the album. Thanks! Album: https://1drv.ms/f/s!Asa6oFpodAJTgY5m44XpZVFJyBl9CA P.S. I know it has a year but I know there are re-issues and it is confusing on how to tell.
  13. I will try to snap the additional photos tomorrow and post when I've added them to the album. Thank you so much for trying to help me know more about it.
  14. Hello, I have a few guitars I'm seeking info for but will take me some time to photograph them. My step-father recently passed away and we are trying to figure out what to do with them. I am looking to find the information and confirm if they are a re-issue and their finer details (type of top, etc), and general value. My sister legally owns them and I think she wants to sell them but I would like to keep them and will probably have to offer to buy them from her. Below are photos I have of the first one. I will post others as I can. Any help is greatly appreciated. Link to full album here: https://1drv.ms/f/s!Asa6oFpodAJTgY5jadgyMVrieP3NhQ It won't let me use the image button to show the images in this post - says it's not allowed so not sure what I am doing wrong. Won't accept my link to the photo.
