  1. I haven't seen NOS that low, except for the Studio models. Are the NOS any better than the original ones? I'm drawn to the fact that the original models came out of the custom shop, with COA (crazy?).
  2. Hi everyone. I had one of the early ES-339s (2009 Sunburst) and liked it alot. Had to sell it for $$$$. Now, looking to pick another one up. Wondering about the new ones. They're about $1K more than 10 years ago. I can find an older, used one for around their original price, on Reverb. Has anyone compared the new ones to the original ones? Not sure if they're better? same? worse? different? Worth $1K more? The original ones came out of the custom shop, with certification. The new ones don't. Not sure if that means anything. Any opinions/comments welcome. Thanks.
  3. Thanks. I have some corrosion on mine. Not sure how or why. Maybe just age. So, thought of replacing it. But not at that cost! It's chrome plated? Any ideas on how to get it looking new again?
  4. Hi. Looking to get a new tailpiece for an 09 ES-339. What do you recommend? Thanks.
  5. Yes, I understand the need to try different ones in order to find the right one. But, earlier ones are a bit more difficult to track down. So, before I do that - are the current ones similar in build and quality as the early (07-10) ones? I ask, because the price on new ones is almost $1G more than the retail price on the older ones. Any good reason to focus on a new one, if I can get an 08/09 in great shape for about $1800? Thanks.
  6. Yes, good point. Sorry, I've been out of the loop for a while. So, am I better off going with an earlier ES339 or one of the newer ones? The newer ones are approx $2700. I can get an earlier one for <$2k. How does the quality compare? Thank you.
  7. The current ones sell new for approx $2700. The original ones were about $1G cheaper. On the resell market, they're still around $1500 to $2000. Are the new ones better ($1G better)? Thanks.
  8. So, do I look for an earlier one from 'Custom Shop', or get a newer one? Similar quality? Features?
  9. I had an early ES-339, liked it a lot. Ended up selling it. Now, thinking about getting another one. The original ones were from Gibson Custom. Not sure if I should look for one of those or a new one (Memphis). How do the newer ones compare to the original ones? Thanks.
  10. http://www.gibson.com/Files/AllAccess/2007/Audio_Video/ES339_DEALERSv1/VideoPlayer.html How about an ES-339? It's perfect!
  11. http://www.guitarcenter.com/Gibson-Custom-ES-359-Electric-Guitar-423591-i1515761.gc ES-359 now available in Pelham Blue and Inverness Green. Pelham Blue now available at GC for both the ES-359 and ES-339.
  12. I didn't think about Wildwood doing custom orders, but that makes sense.
  13. Ditto. I don't think I've seen one with anything on it.
  14. I'm still waiting to see it in Inverness Green. Anyone gete a pic? Guitar Center still doesn't have them in stock.
  15. Sweet! I hadn't seen that. I just checked GuitarCenter's website - they have it (also in Inverness Green). No pics, but it's $2915, and they say it's available at the end of March. http://www.guitarcenter.com/Gibson-Custom-ES-339-Electric-Guitar-423590-i1515766.gc I like the color, but not for an additional $1k. Are there any other differences? Curious to see what the green looks like.
