  1. Very nice demo of the guitar! Looks great and your playing is very cool. Makes me want to pursue that model. You should check out Marcus King. Not your style, but he crushes with that model.
  2. I bought a 2015 Bourbon Burst model from CME in 2017. Paid what I considered a great price ($1440) for what was labeled as NOS. I also found a few small flaws, noticeable the same roughness of the f-holes, also some small bubbling of the nitros at the joint of the neck and body. Plays and sounds great though. I would not think your guitar is a fake.
  3. I've kind of put the guitar up because it bugs me so much to see it. I've been down the Youtube rabbit hole on scratch repair and watched a number of videos and reviews of this stuff, and may try it. Nitro is a whole different animal for sure. Got a luthier that Ive been going to for decades , and will get his opinion. Thanks for the reply.
  4. See attached; its nasty for sure.
  5. Hello all, I have a small but fairly deep scratch in the back of my ES-Les Paul. The finish is nitrocellulose. Has anyone had good success in repairing a scratch , and could recommend a product? Thanks in advance./ I can post a picture soon. I
  6. I would like to hear from players of Memphis ES guitars what their go to amp is? I'm sure we are all over the board on this, but the amp plays as much a part of the tone as our guitar.
  7. Beautiful guitar, mate. Enjoy! By the way, what's the rest of your rig? Curious what your go to amp is with this guitar?
  8. Rockdrummerzero, I pulled the trigger and bought the Kluson tuners last week and updated my ES-Les Paul. I have to say, Im a big fan of the them. They look great, and make swapping strings a breeze. I also find the tunning stability is much better. Replacing the bushings was a bit of a hassle. Although the original bushings looked the same as the new ones, I didn't want to chance it. I found a YouTube video that recommended a long 3/32mm socket to insert in the hole; just the right size to catch the edge o the bushing and reverse it out of the hole. Anyway, I highly recommend them.
  9. Hey Rockdrummerzero- any chance of posting a photo? I have the 2015 ES-Les Paul Bourbon Burst and have considered changing them out as well. Thanks
  10. I have the exact guitar as well. Although I am not having problems with tuning, I am not a fan of the tuners. I have a couple strats and am fond of the vintage tuners, which I find are much easier to string. I found using some Diaddario nut sauce on the bridge and nut really helps the stability. Theres a Youtube video of how to properly string the guitar as well (not implying that you are doing it wrong, but it does offer some tips). Kluson makes a vintage look tuner, with a locking nut I am considering, but at this point, have not pulled the trigger. I've included the link below. By the way, I love this guitar! http://www.kluson.com/revolution.htmlI
  11. One beautiful guitar! I love the color. I was at the Memphis factory last year, and played a one- off ES335 in the same color vein as yours. It happened to be on a rack that the sales tech identified as guitars that were stained a color other than what was being offered as a standard color through Gibson Memphis. Since they would not go into production, they had reduced prices on them. I did not look to see if there was the sticker inside, but its possible that your guitar may be one of these models? At any rate, you will certainly get comments when you play that sweet thing out there. A beautiful piece. so enjoy it!

    MHS pickups

I have the MHS pickups in my 2015 ES-Les Paul, and I think they sound fantastic. That being said, other than my PRS Custom 24, and a '72 Les Paul Deluxe, I have nothing else to compare them to. Ive been playing a G&L Asat classic and a Fender EJ Strat for years, and had forgotten how much fun a Les Paul can be again.Of course, its all subjective, but most players have been pleased with the pickups and I do get compliments on the tone of my guitar.
  13. I can only speak from my comparison. I owned an Epiphone Dot Deluxe, and it was a very nice guitar for the money. Played great, but was never my go to guitar. I came across a Gibson Memphis ES-Les Paul last year from CME and pulled the trigger. Its just a beautiful guitar and plain out fun to play. The quality is great, as well as appearance. And the pickups and electronics are top notch. And it seems EPI players seem to want to swap pickups and pots all the time. So, IMO, at some point, you will want a Gibson.
  14. Gear-2015 ES Les Paul; 2006 Fender EJ Strat; G&L Asat Classic;Fender '62 RI Strat; '95 PRS CE24; PRS Custom 24; 1972 Vibrolux Reverb; Fender '68 Custom Deluxe Reverb; Vox AC 15; various pedals

  15. Very nice- I picked up the Bourbon Burst one from CME with a 15% off sale last August. At that price, it was a steal. I get compliments on tone and looks every time I play it. Like people has said: its a Les Paul with its own voicing. It also sound great through my AC15 w/Celestion Blue, but cranking it through my'68 Custom Deluxe Reverb and a Full Drive is is tone heaven. quote name='Grog' timestamp='1523194216' post='1928800'] I bought a 2016 ES Les Paul Bass from CME last September or so with MHS pickups designed just for that bass. I've been impressed with that bass & it's pickups from the start. I've had many Gibsons through the years & it quickly became one of my favorites. About a month ago, I picked up a used 2015 ES Les Paul guitar, another great instrument! The MHS pickups sound great! I love the way the neck pickup growls at different amp settings. I hope they re establish the Memphis facility & produce these guitars again. It seems that the last ones were produced in 2016.
  16. I have them in my ES-Les Paul and am very impressed with them, although this is my first Les Paul since my LP Deluxe back in 1972 (which I still have). It could be the total package with the ES-Les Paul, but running this guitar through my rig and adding a Full Drive 3 for gain is a sound all its own. There's a lot to be said of the vol and tone pots on the guitar, which are 500k with orange drop caps. Very smooth taper and control.

  18. New to the forum; enjoy any kind of blues, country, jazz, worship music. Current passion is my ES-Les Pau Bourbon Burst. Play through a '68 Custom Deluxe Reverb, various pedals, and a Full Drive 3 for gain. Also have an Fender EJ Strat as a main guitar, as well as a PRS Custom 24

  19. Hello- new to the forum but would like to share with other owners of ES-Les Pauls. I purchased a 2015 model from CME last year, and am extremely pleased with the guitar. Ive been playing a Fender EJ strat as well as a G&L USA Asat classic for years and the ES Les Paul has been a blast to play with. I love the MHS pickups, particularly through my '68 Custom Deluxe Reverb. Anyway, glad to be aboard
