You served to if I'm not mistaken.

I always hated being thanked for it . I joined the service for me and no one else. I needed to get my life together and that is what I did. Got paid, traveled the world, and learned a trade. And had a smile on my face you couldn't chisel off when in places like the Philippines and Thailand.

What a messed up response. My gratitude was not directed to you, why you felt obligated to respond is  weird to say the least . In the future, please keep your comments to my post to yourself.

I served in the first gulf war as well.
Six and a half months we were deployed down there.

Plenty of risk (flying in very hostile environments, getting shot at, nearly landing on land-mines, having SCUD missiles launched at us, etc), but I never thought to list that on my 'Dicey Things' chart.

I  mean, it was an all-volunteer Army, and I was being paid to be there and do a job.

    Thank you for your service.

  3. I recently purchased a Epiphone ES-335 and love it! I swapped out the pups with SD Pearly Gates. I cannot compare it to the Gibson as I never played one. However, I do have an ES-339, but it's like comparing apples ato oranges IMHO.  I highly recommend checking out the Epi 335.

So my sweeter half and I had four days to get the project done. Basically we needed to replace the soft tops 8x8 pergola , the 5x5 soft top gazebo and construct a new deck.  We received a few estimates but the lowest was $4000.... well that's a new Gibson.

So with a $1500 budget in mind we found a 14x10 hardtop pergola for $749 and I modified the current bbq gazebo with a hard too for $105, new outdoor carpet $150. With the materials needed for the deck that left us with $600 for a new BBQ.

The wifey was a trooper with the pergola assembly.... I would have got it done without her. There are some small details left like floor transitions, painting the pergola wooden risers and setting up the privacy curtains, but we are pleased.

Didn't you do something very similar to this a couple of years ago?

it all depends. I've swapped them out after 2 to 3 years and I've gigged with a Marshall 1/2 stack for 7 years with the original tubes.

as far as Twang's comment about being behind the curve, I can understand that sentiment. I have a handful of friends that use the processors instead of a full rig. But I'm still lugging around a mini Orange stack. a TH30 head & two Orange 1x12 cabs. I don't like how processors sound. I don't think anything will ever sound as good as a tube amp with a SM57 in front of it. curve or no curve.

    AMEN BROTHER AMEN!!!
