  2. A cheap active DI box to like the Behringer Ultra DI100 to give that passive pickup a stronger signal. I've seen plenty of good guitars sound thin and tinny trying to send a passive pickup straight to the board.
  3. Any suggestions on a decent fitting case for my 1935-36 Cromwell G-5. I have the chipboard case and that thing's going to fail on me if I keep using it? The Epiphone Century Zenith case seems like a possibility but one review said it was on the small side.
  4. Recently started using Studio One Pro after many years fighting with a Fostex VF160. Might still use the Fostex for tracking live shows, but I don't think I'll go back to doing mixdowns with it.
  5. Bob at Gibson customer service e-mailed me and said it is a G-5 from '35 or '36.
  6. More curious about which model it is than what year. It would just be nice to have the information if it is available.
  7. Trying to find out what year this Cromwell was made and which model it is. I'm thinking it's a G6 '35 or '36, but it doesn't seem to match any other Cromwells that I have found online. No serial number on the headstock. Bound pickguard, Grover tuners, single stripe with oversize dots on fretboard, flame maple back and sides, and basic 'roof' style headstock. The neck is straight and the action is pretty low. https://www.flickr.com/photos/163952424@N07/albums/72157670289937137

  9. Hi everybody, I'm in my late 30's and have been playing guitar for 25 years. I play in an original rock band as well as a duo with my wife. I run an after-school elementary guitar ensemble for 4th-6th graders. I also run sound for a local venue and do home recording. My Gibson guitars are a '95 Les Paul Classic Premium Plus Custom Shop that has been my number one for 18 years now. I also recently picked up an old Cromwell archtop off of Craigslist for $35. My other regularly played guitars (I have more guitars than I care to list) are a '94 Peavey Predator with a Carvin AP11 pickup mod, an Ibanez AM73B, a Takamine GX100 explorer style electric, and a '64 Airline branded Harmony Sovereign.
